Description

My apartment is located in the Latin quarter, just next to the famous Rue Mouffetard, in one of the nicest neighbourhoods of Paris. The apartment has one big room downstairs with a kitchen, a bathroom and a corridor, and then steps lead to the bedroom on a big mezzanine/second floor. It has a nice wooden floor, beautiful beams and a very nice atmosphere.
The apartment, in a classical 19th century building, is located in a garden/courtyard, on the 3rd and last floor, so it is absolutely quiet although in the centre of Paris. It is nicely decorated, has a lot of charm, people generally like it very much.
You can walk to many places from there or take any transportation (bus, metro, bycicles), everything is near. There are a lot of nice cafes on the square nearby, next to the famous market of Rue Mouffetard, and restaurants and cinemas are also nearby.

Neighborhood

The neighbourhood is a very famous one : the Latin quarter. It is one of the nicest because it is beautiful and lively, with a mixture of student atmosphere, intellectuals and old bourgeois French families.
There are restaurants, cafes, cinemas, garden (Luxembourg, Jardin des plantes) and just very picturesque houses and streets.
You can walk to the Seine, to the Sorbonne, to the Marais, to the Louvre or Notre-Dame : everything is quite close, but there are also many buses 2 minutes away from my home. And now you can also bycicle for free in Paris, there are plenty of bycicles stands all around the area.
This is by far my favourite neighbourhood, very searched for!

About Us

I was born in Paris and lived there until 27, when I moved to Brussels to work in the EU. I work in humanitarian aid programmes so I travel quite a lot but I go to Paris for the week-end regularly.
I am very interested in the world and I also travel outside my work, which is why I am here to propose an exchange with you.
I am used to exchanging or renting my flat - I already did it several times with people from the US, Australia and England. I think it is a very nice system to visit a country, as opposed to a hotel which is less comfortable and more anonymous. If you come to my apartment, you will really live in a Parisian atmosphere and I am sure you will enjoy it very much.
I am particularly interested in exchanging my flat with a flat in Europe (Italy above all but also any other destination), or in New York or in Jerusalem

Destination

It can be a non-simultaneous exchance since my apartment in paris is nearly always available.
In Italy, I would be interested in Rome, Venice, Sicily in particular for this Christmas.
In the US, it would be for New York.
I am also interested to exchange my flat in Paris for a flat in Jerusalem for a longer duration (can be several months) as of March 2008.
