Description
Our 2869 sq ft single story home sits on a beautifully landscaped 1/3 acre corner lot in the Cabrillo Verde neighborhood of Club West. It has 3 bedrooms - 1st BR/2 singles - 2nd BR/1 single - library /one single pull out - Master - King. The library doesn't have a door, but a rod with curtain can be used. An extra single mattress is available. The livingroom sectional could probably be used for sleeping, also. The house plan is split, which gives you privacy. Master Bedroom with large bath and jacuzzi and walk-in closet is at one end of the house, and the two bedrooms with shared bath on the other end of house. We have a large open Livingroom/Diningroom that looks out onto the pool area. There is a large(all equiped) kitchen/greatroom with large screen TV w/DVD player. The windows throughout the house are large, and it makes you feel as if you are living outside. It is a very bright and cheerful home. There is a rowing machine, a treadmill, and stationery bike. We would be happy to discuss the use of our small 'Echo' car.
Neighborhood
The Ahwatukee Foothills is nestled between the south side of Pheonix's South Mountain Preserve, and the Gila Indian Reservation. It is serene, safe, and Money Magazine has noted it as one of the "best Places to Live". The Preserve offers wonderful hiking, & mountain biking trails. The foothills is perfect for biking and rollerblading. Our neighborhood is peaceful, and our home is within walking distance of the Club House, tennis courts and playground.
The Gila Indian Reservation (12-15 minutes away) offers horseback riding/campfire/dinner evenings, a casino, and a beautiful walk or boat ride along the Wild Horse Pass resort's replica of the Gila River.
Rawhide, the western town is located on the reservation. We are conveniently located to shopping and major roads, and located 20 minutes to Sky Harbor International Airport. Famous, Scottsdale, is about a 30-35 minute ride away.
About Us
Vincent and I moved from New England to Phoenix 5 years ago, and Vincent retired two years ago as a scientist in research and development. He does some consulting. We belong to the Affordable Travel Club, Evergreen Travel Club, and Caretakers Gazette. We have exchanged homes once for six weeks on Bainbridge Island. And, enjoyed meeting and spending time with our new friends in the travel clubs. Our grandchildren are in Bellingham, Washington, and a daughter in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Vincent enjoys writing, Italian classes, gardening, Socrates' Cafe Discussion groups, hiking, tennis, reading, traveling, and the grandchildren. I am an artist (painting) and, love any other form of art, enjoy gardening, reading, Socrates' Cafe, traveling. And, I am always plotting how to get to see the children and grandchildren. Aspen and Aiden are 7 and 3. If anyone is interested in reading about our son-in-law, just search the web 'Demonkeeper' Royce Scott Buckingham. Our other daughter in Massachusetts has decided to head back to school in 'Landscape Architecture'. We're excited about spending the Christmas holiday with our Bellingham family, and are looking for a place in Vancouver to bring them for a night or two after Christmas.
Destination
Our home would be available around December 17th 2007 through New Years and, probably another week into the new year. At this time, we are interested in a place in Vancouver, to take our children, and 2 grandchildren, after the holiday. We are interested in a place where there is a pool. Downtown is fine. We plan to visit Stanley Park and Grouse Mountain. We would need at least 3 bedrooms. We are NON-SMOKERS so would prefer a non-smoking residence. And, would prefer non-smokers visiting our home, due to ashma. This could be a non-simultaneous exchange.
