Description

Our beautiful split level all wood pole house is surrounded by native bush and water views, yet only 10 mins from Auckland and many beautiful beaches and destinations on the North Shore. The first level has a sanctuary bedroom with a double bed, the second level has a large open plan lounge, dining and kitchen with stunning water views and a deck with extends the length of the lounge.
The ceilings are vaulted, and a free standing wood burning stove keeps the house warm as toast. The kitchen has all modern apliances and the floors are hardwood throughout. Also on the second level is an office with wireless internet access, a good size bedroom with single bed and balcony, a WC and a bathroom to die for with a large tub, shower and views of native ferns.
The top level has a Master bedroom with its own tiolet and shower and a private balcony with a gorgeous view. The only sounds you'll hear are bird songs in the mornings and in the evenings.

There is also a garage and the use of a car is possible. the house is nicely furnished throughout with a persian rug and leather furniture in the lounge, yet is liveable and child friendly.

the house was designed by a well known local architect and never fails to impress!

Neighborhood

Our neighborhood is called Beach Haven for a reason- we are literally across the street from a beautiful reserve known as Mariner's Cove. The street has lovely, well established trees, friendly neighbors, and many beautiful local bush walks and scenic drives. At the top of our street a bus goes directly into downtown Auckland, or you can catch a bus to a nearby ferry which goes to the beautiful viaduct and waterfront marina. There are major shopping areas close by and several good restaurants and cafes in the area.

The exquisite north Island destinations of the Coromandel Peninsula and the Bay of Islands are only a few hours by car or visit the central North Islands Volcanic regions and world famous mineral hot springs....there's even skiing nearby and every water sport imaginable.

About Us

We are a family of 3. My husband runs a software company called Death2Spam, I am a free lance writer and an adult educator, and our son 9 yr old son Aden is our pride and joy. We love music, travel, getting togther with friends, French wines, books, and time enjoying the peace and beauty of our unique home. We're very social people which is why our home is perfect- it's wonderful for entertaining in, and also secluded enough to be private.

Destination

We are especially interested in exchanges in the Pyrenees Oriental region of France near Perpignan, Coliore, Banyuls Des Aspres, etc but would be open to other destinations in Provence or on the Mediterranean Coast. We would prefer property on or near water, but other scenic views could be appreciated. We are not interested in any noisy urban locations!

We have flexibility with our dates and length of stay within the months between June and September- ideally 2-3 months is what we're hoping for but shorter times could be considered.
