Description

Our House is a beautiful 4 bedroom home, which we designed
ourselves in 1991.
The master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and en-suite closet is located on the main floor. The additional 2 bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor with a separate full bathroom. The 4th bedroom is located in the finished basement along with a computer room, playroom/family room (with Xbox etc.), personal gym and cold storage area. From the kitchen you can access the main
deck to the backyard, which contains a large garden and the deck houses a canvas gazebo with a teak table and chairs to seat 8 people comfortably for dining outside in the warmer weather.
We have 2 adult bikes and 3 children’s bikes available for use.

Neighborhood

Located within 5 minutes walking distance to the Ottawa River, you
have access to a cycle path. It is a 20-minute, leisurely cycle on
the path to the downtown Parliament buildings following the
beautiful Ottawa River. Alternatively you can easily access the
Ottawa River parkway to drive by car to the heart of the city in
less than 10 minutes.
Across the street is a small park with a baseball diamond and life
guarded pool for children (only 4 feet deep) and is open to
the public 6 days a week during the summer.
A green-belted forest surrounding our neighbourhood makes our
neighborhood a little secluded spot from the rest of the city.
5-10 minutes walking you have access to Epicurean row, which is our high street containing numerous restaurants (20), bakeries (4), a butcher and a new theatre (Great Canadian Theatre Company) with live performances all year.
During August there is a fireworks festival one night each week nearby. In July there is a Jazz and Blues festival also 10 minutes away.
There are numerous festivals for music and the arts during the
summer, which we can provide further information depending on your interest.

A short drive across the Ottawa River brings you into the province
of Quebec, which has a variety of activities in the Gatineau Hills. For those who love hiking, cycling, walking or driving scenic routes, there are activities such as rope climbing, bungy-jumping (for the adventurous), as well as white water rafting for all skill levels.
As Ottawa is centrally located, you can travel to the trendy city
of Montreal (2 hours away) and all the beauty this multi-lingual
city has to offer. Further in Ontario, is Kingston (1&1/2 hours),
a quaint and historic city or the cosmopolitan city of Toronto
(5 hours).

You can take a train to any of these destinations from the Ottawa
train station, which is a 10-15 minute drive or taxi ride from our
house. The train brings you to the centre of each of those cities.
