Large living room with cedar cathedral ceiling, floor to ceiling windows, screened-in porch/sunroom, outside deck with BBQ, further deck off kitchen/dinning room, TV room with satellite TV/DVD/dial-up internet/stereo.

Neighborhood

My house is located in an unique location just a 20 minute drive from Canada's capital city, Ottawa. Ottawa is a beautiful city built on the Ottawa River with two other large rivers and a canal connecting them. It has all a capital city has to offer, museums, art galleries, historic buildings, national monuments, beautiful gardens, night life, great restaurants and is very safe.
MontCascdes is the name of the area in which I live. It is an unique location where everyone is located on one or more acres of woodland. We have two lakes for swimming which are for residents only. Walking trails, a waterpark and golf course. In winter the waterpark becomes our local ski hill a great place to learn how to ski. The surrounding area has 4 more ski hills all within a 20 minute drive. Mont Tremblant the biggest ski area in Eastern Canada is an easy day trip away as is Montreal. Toronto and Quebec City are a 4 hour drive away. The border to the USA is one hour's drive away.
A 15 minute drive takes you to the Gatineau National Park which has walking/biking trails, climbing, swimming and beautiful drives.
It is hot and humid in the summer months, June to end of August when temperatures are in high 20's low 30's. Winter, Dec. thru end March it can hit -20+ but averages -5-10. Ottawa boasts the longest skating rink in the world, 7Km. Winterlude, the local winter festival, is held during the month of February.
My neighbourhood is very safe. Ottawa is bilingual.

About Us

I am 55, work as a midwife in Ottawa. I would be travelling with a friend.
I want to spend time in France to help improve my French.
I would be interested in exchanging any where in the world during my time off.
IN 2008 I am off February, June, October.

I am open to any offer anywhere during June or October 2008. The exchange would have to be simultaneous.
