Description

Three storey terrace, with sunny living area leading to a courtyard.
The main bedroom is on the top floor, with a king size bed and an ensuite. The second level has two bedrooms and a bathroom. The bedrooms have polished wooden floors. The ground floor is open plan, with living, dining, kitchen and laundry. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances.
The stairs make our house unsuitable for the elderly and for children. The construction is such that the house is warm in winter and cool in summer.
The streetscape is dominated by large plane trees.
Wireless internet access is available.

Neighborhood

We are a few minutes walk to the train station, to local eateries, to the shopping centre and to the harbour. One train station away is a major shopping mall.
We are two train stations from the centre of the city, or a half hour walk. There is a park at the end of our street, which is a cul-de-sac so very quiet.
Tennis courts and lawn bowls are a short walk.
If you are a sailor, the Cruising Yacht Club is nearby, put your name down to crew on a race.

About Us

I am in my early sixties, female, divorced, and work full-time at a local university.
A friend may travel with me.
My son, who is 26, will remain in the house and will look after our small dog and cat, so you are free to travel locally.
My son is an easy going young man, and uses our converted garage for his computer activites and is more often there than in the house during his waking hours, when he is not at work.

Destination

Can be a non-simultaneous exchange, any time of year, but then exchange is limited to one couple.
I will be in Canada in October/November 2008.
Two exchanges for this visit are already arranged. Still open to visitng someone in Montreal 3-6 Nov 2008, by which time I will be travelling alone.

In 2009 I plan to take a river cruise in Europe from Amsterdam on 3 June, and am looking to extend my stay through a home exchange for the last two weeks of May 2009.

Later in 2009 - open to suggestions.
