Our 1925 condo was fully rehabbed in 2002 and is situated in the heart of architecturally significant Oak Park, IL (just West of downtown Chicago). Our home is meticulously well-kept and features a modern kitchen with dishwasher and washer/dryer, granite counter-tops and SS appliances. One Queen bedroom and one Full bedroom (we have access to a crib, if needed). Bathroom has shower/tub and full linen closet. Hardwood floors throughout unit, spacious layout, comfortable living room, formal dining room and furnished deck with ground-level outdoor common area for grilling or relaxing. 50" HDTV with digital cable, Broadband Internet access and many cafes with free Wi-Fi nearby. Easy street parking with temporary passes available. Quiet, residential, tree-lined street with great neighbors - family friendly!

With 23 area homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (including his home and studio and the Unity Temple) and a vibrant arts district, our neighborhood is ideal for anyone seeking a great Chicago get-a-way! Easy access to both the El train Green Line (a few blocks walk) and Metra commuter train. Shopping, dining and tours of Wright structures and the nearby Pleasant Home all in walking distance. Oak Park is also the birthplace of Ernest Hemingway - you can tour his home and museum. Local Farmer's Market every Saturday May - Oct. 15 min drive to The Loop and Magnificent Mile Shopping, Millennium Park and Navy Pier. Also a quick trip to Obama sites and tours (in Hyde Park). Great architectural boat tours through the river and Al Capone/Untouchables tours in the city. Art Institute of Chicago, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Contemporary Museum of Art, Freedom Museum, Museum of Science & Industry, Adler Planetarium, Chicago Botanic Gardens, and much more! A walk through our neighborhood will reveal everything from classic Chicago bungalows to Prairie-style homes, Victorian "painted ladies" and 19th century estates. Downtown Oak Park has a movie theater, unique shops, antiques and an array of ethnic cuisine options. Chicago proper begins just 4 blocks from our front door - enjoy the urban/suburban mix. We are a young (30s) married couple who enjoy entertaining and cultural activities. We are active in the theater and music communities of Chicago and maintain a busy and fun lifestyle. I am a voice and acting teacher and freelance writer. My husband is an actor/comedian and in business. Our home reflects our myriad of interests. We are educated, respectful and love to travel. We are both English-speaking and understand some French, Spanish and Italian. We also love sports! We would take care of your home as we do our own and leave it clean and neat. We are open to caring for your pets and plants while you are out.
