Description

New three storey townhouse located on the water within walking distance of beautiful downtown Victoria. The house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the upper floor, the kitchen, living room, and a bathroom on the middle floor, and a spare room (currently used as a playroom, but could be used as a third bedroom) and bathroom on the first floor.
The second floor balcony has a beautiful view of the buildings of downtown Victoria, as well as the Selkirk Waterway, a popular location for rowing, sea kayaking, and canoeing. Our house is located a five minute walk from a shopping complex containing a large grocery store, bank, video store, and other stores and restaurants.

Neighborhood

The house is within easy walking distance of downtown Victoria, with its beautiful harbour and buildings, varied shopping, large number of restaurants, and assorted tourist attractions. Our house is located on the Selkirk Waterway, an extension of Victoria's Inner Harbour. You can kayak, canoe, or row a boat for several kilometres in either direction from the dock of our development. Kayak rentals are available within metres of our house.
Our house is also located on the Galloping Goose Regional Trail, a bicycle/walking trail that leads for approximately 30 km in one direction, to the ferry terminals for Vancouver and the many Gulf Islands, and for approximately 50 kilometres in the other direction, to the rainforest-covered west coast of Vancouver Island. The Victoria area, and the rest of Vancouver Island, is a nature-lover's paradise. There are endless opportunities for outdoor activity, from hikes through towering rainforests to explorations of Pacific beaches to sailing, sea kayaking, and even scuba diving. Victoria has the mildest climate in Canada, and receives far less rainfall (and more sunshine) than Vancouver. However, if you do want to visit Vancouver, it is just a short ferry ride from Victoria, as is Seattle, Washington. Other popular excursions from Victoria are to the town of Tofino on the west coast of the Island, with its kilometres-long white sand beach, surfing, and rain forest hikes, and to any of several of the Gulf Islands, each of which has its own unique character and geography. .

About Us

We are a professional couple, with one of us employed as a lawyer, and the other, having worked as a lawyer, now busy as a stay at home parent. We have a six year old son, and a four year old daughter.
As a family, we spend much of our leisure time outdoors hiking in rainforest or coastal areas, riding our bicycles on the many kilometres of bike trails in the Victoria and southern Vancouver Island area (accessible from right outside our door!) or kayaking.

Destination

Our dates are very flexible, in that we could travel during school holidays or outside of school holidays (believing as we do that the educational value of travel outweighs any small disadvantage of a child missing several weeks of school).
