Description

The house is about 260 sq mtr and is a restored old famhouse (black and white timbered house of historical interest. Upstairs are three bedrooms with an small extra room, downstairs are a kitchen/dining area, a large living room and a separate room used as an office/library. There is a courtyard and a large barn in which there is a garage for one car. The long but narrow garden goes down to the Schunter river, where at the bottom there is a small orchard.

Neighborhood

The property is approached by a short 'private' driveway and is very secluded although there are neighbouring houses. Public transport (to Braunschweig) is about 10 minutes walk away. There is a good road connection to the city centre - the drive takes about 15 minutes. The drive to Hannover is about 50 minutes and it is about 3 hours drive to Berlin. The house is not far from the A2 motorway with access to the renopwned German motorway system.
The village is on the river and supermarkets and shops are five minutes drive away. The village has a bakery, the nearby town of Lehre has a good infrastructure.

About Us

I am a retired academic and my wife is a teacher soon to retire. We have lived in Canada, America and for many years in Australia. We want to travel as much as we can. We are a careful respectful couple and our house reflects the fact that we really live here, hence not everything is squeaky/clean perfect and shining new!
