Description

We have a well furnished condo with two bedrooms (one king bed, one double bed), one bath, and a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has filtered water, refrigerator, stove/oven dishes appliances, glasses cookware and utensils needed to dine in if you choose, or enjoy one of the many restaurants nearby. The living room has a big L shape sofa and a TV for viewing a large selection of English language films. The dining room has a festive table with room for four people. The balcony has a spectacular view of the ocean and you can enjoy the amazing sunsets from there.

The condo complex has eighteen units. Most neighbors are also retired and reside there for half the year and are back in Canada or the United States for the other half. They are friendly and can rapidly help you orient to the city. They know it well. The complex is fenced and gated with security guards 24 hours per day. The laundry complex has washers and dryers shared by the units. We do not have a washer or dryer in the unit.

The condo is primarily cooled by the sea breezes. However, there are large ceiling fans in the master bedroom and living room. There are air conditioners in both bedrooms. Cooling is required from May through October.

We wish to do a non-simultaneous exchange. We hope to travel in June 2008.

Our condo is rented until April 27, 2008. Any time after that we would like to exchange it for two or three weeks in France or Germany.

Neighborhood

We own a condo directly on the beach in Mazatlan, Mexico. This is an interesting city of about half a million residents. It has good air connections via Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver and Houston. Mazatlan has the cultural sights and charm of a Mexican metropolis combined with the relaxation of a beach resort.

Our neighborhood, Sabalo, is in the “Golden Zone” which is an area well supplied with restaurants and activities. There are a dozen restaurants within two blocks. We have several small groceries and services such as hairdressers, pharmacies, internet cafe and beauty spas within two blocks.

The municipal buses pass within twenty yards of our front door. Buses take you to the historic center of the city in thirty minutes for under one US dollar. Buses also serve all parts of town including various beaches and the shopping malls and grocery stores.

About Us

We are a retired couple (American + eine gebürtige Hamburgerin) without children. We enjoy the beach, the pool and the warm climate. The condo is configured to support those interests with everything you need for pleasant meals on the deck enjoying stunning sunsets.

We are not night club people, so we spend many evenings in the condo either reading from a diverse library or watching any of several hundred films.

We do not drive in Mazatlan because the buses are so frequent, comfortable and inexpensive.

We are non-smokers.

Destination

We wish to do a non-simultaneous exchange. We hope to travel in June 2008 but we are flexible regarding dates.
