Our cosy 1950s cottage is situated in a side street that makes it very peaceful.We have 2 bedrooms & a sunroom that can be used as a bedroom.We have 1 queensize bed & 1 single bed & a bed settee.Our home is very warm & well ventilated.We have gas thermowave cooking & heating throughout the home.Outside bbq area.Our dinning seats 5 & our lounge seats 5 comfortably.We have a flat section with a few fruit trees a vege garden & a flower garden that surrounds the front of the home.We have a tv,dvd,video, record player & cd player.Internet,fax & plenty reading material.We do have a double garage, ,but Piripi has 1 full of what he calls his treasures.The other 1 will have our sons 4WD in it for you's to use.6 plants are indoors that we would appreciate it if you watered them.I shall wipe them before we leave.
We have a full sized colourful giraffe that Koa prizes very much.So please take care not to let anyone try to get on it or move it.It is situated in its corner in the lounge out of everyones way so it dosn't need to be moved at all.Koa was given it as a farewell gift from her best friend.Thats why care needs to be taken with it.The home is available from the 21st Dec to the 17th January.But if you aren't staying all that time that is fine as our neighbours are good enough to look after our home for us.We have carpet throughout the home much to our displeasure.It will all be cleaned before we leave.We have 2 phones 1 being cordless.All 1 level.We have a porch that we use for our weight room.A deflatable kiddies pool if wanted.Our backyard is 6 ft privately fenced.The kitchen has all the electrical appliances.Bedding etc is all available.
Neighborhood
We enjoy living here as it is a quiet friendly neighbourhood where we can still have our own privacy at the same time.The neighbours are very accomodating.loving & honest.We are situated in a side street & yet we can take just a 5 minute walk & we will be in the township.There we have a New World supermarket,Unichem,3 banks being Credit Union,TSB,National.4 fish & chip shops,1 pizza place,3 restaurants,2 garages being Challenge-awesome service,BP.Postshop.& a variety of other shops.
Waitara has a population of 5000 & it is very friendly atmosphere.Beside the township is the river that is good for fishing & beginning from there you can take a nice scenic 10 minute walk to the beach.there we have a skate bowl & if your into surfing then you will be very satisfied.On the other side of town which is just a 3 minute walk across the bridge is the public swimming pools.Or you can watch the locals jump off the bridge.Whats so cool about living in Waitara is that we are only 12 minutes from New Plymouth.The home of Womad,Americana,The Peace Festival,TSB Stadium & Showplace where well known concerts are performed such Motorhead & Elton John.Bowl of Brooklands where there is a concert every day throughout summer until Waitangi weekend.Grab a wine & take a romantic row boat ride at night in Pukekura park under the festive lights.Aquatic swimming pools caters for all ages.It has an outside hydroslides,diving board pools,kiddies pool & swimming pool then inside it has a wavepool,tarzan rope,kiddies pool,swimmers pool.spa & sauna.Take your lunch & you can sit inside & lookout to the ocean.Shopping is fun,so much to offer & alot of restaurants to choose from.We recommend India Today or Steakout.Hells Kitchen is the best pizza place.YUM! Mountains & parks to tramp through.A variety to do or you can just lax out.
About Us
We are a family of 3 that will be travelling.We have 4 adult children.Our oldest daughter works at the TSB here,she has her own home.Our other 2 children live in Dunedin.Our son with his flatmates & our daughter & her husband are giving us our 1st grandchild.There house is being built at the moment & won't be ready until the 5th January.She is due the 23rd December.EXCITING! So we only need a place to stay until then.
Our 20yr old son whose name is Klynx is due back at work on the 21st January so he will comeback on the 16th.
We have a cleaning business & our staff will run it until we get back, which will be the 21st January the earliest or after Waitangi weekend the latest.All depends how things are going with our daughter & her baby girl.
We love music,movies, concerts & reading.Enjoy social drinking with friends watching sports or at a bbq.
We play guitars & we all love Singalong,Buzz.
Fully enjoy fishing & if Koa had her way, she'd have Piripi fishing everyday,as she can eat fish daily.
Koa is also a PA for various clients.
We also look after a teenage boy who is IHC.CYFS asked us July last year to look after him for 2 weeks, as his mother was unable to but 15 months later & he is still with us.
He will not be travelling with us though,as we are taking him with us to Brisbane in November for a few weeks.So come our South Island trip,he will be going into a special home so we can have a break also & give him a break from us.
Destination
Yes we don't have to exchange.The dates are flexible in going into the exchange but it is set on leaving the exchange.Dunedin is the only place that we are interested in going to.
