Description

Ours is a 3-bedroom house on one level--built in 1947. One bedroom is my studio and the other is Ann's office. My studio has a PC desktop and Ann's is equipped for a LapTop. Accordingly, count on ours being a one bedroom house. Our living room features beautiful oak floors, gas fireplace, and an inviting bookcase, all of which is set off with attractive art and sculpture along with comfortable seating and a hide-a-bed couch. A family room is surrounded by picture windows overlooking the Cascade Mts. A large dining table, hi-definition TV, stereo, VCR, comfortable chairs and distinctive art make up this favorite room. The kitchen was recently remodeled and features granite counter tops, new appliances and offers views of the Cascades. A large walk-in pantry off the kitchen accommodates a new washer-dryer. Our master bedroom is properly lighted for reading in bed and has a TV. In addition to a newly designed bathroom, we have a large hot tub right outside the bathroom door. The tub is deck surrounded in a beautifully landscaped and private back yard. A downstairs garage has been converted into a workshop and bicycle storage area. There is a carport.

Neighborhood

The highpoint of our house location is its proximity to Ashland's village center where the Oregon Shakespeare Festival with its three major theaters is located. Also here is a classic, old movie theater, sophisticated shops and a plethora of restaurants, coffee houses and striking classic architecture. Then, too, there's beautiful Lithia Park. In the opposite direction from our house is the University with its grand, new Hannon Library and its many academic offerings to seniors. Both areas are each 15-minute walks through safe, beautiful neighborhoods. Aside from a wonderful young family across the street, there are few children in this neighborhood. We are architectural buffs and enjoy all the attractive homes in this and other Ashland neighborhoods.
