Description

Non-simultaneous exchange OK!

Enjoy my sweet, peaceful, recently remodeled, 1913 home, just 10 minutes walk to beautiful Seward Park and Lake Washington. Visitors often comment on the warm, quiet and welcoming nature of my place.

Private backyard is enclosed on 3 sides, and it has trees, garden, deck, patio and BBQ.

2 minute drive (or 10 minute, hilly walk) to beautiful Lake Washington, scenic drives and paved jogging path along the lake.

High ceilings, light-filled, recently remodeled, uncluttered. Wi-Fi, basic cable television. Gas fireplace. Original glass windows on main floor, lots of light. Beautiful Persian rugs throughout.

Two bedrooms on main floor: one is small with a Temperpedic-type queen bed, the other bedroom functions as an office but could contain 2 sleeping bags. Upper floor (open, remodeled attic with lots of skylights, gas fireplace and TV) has a queen bed and can sleep many more people with sleeping bags. I also have a blow-up double bed available.

Basement (recently remodeled) has brand new full bathroom with heated floor.

Enjoy cooking in my large kitchen, with fresh produce from nearby Farmer's Market (May-October).

(Photos - as you can see, I'm a bit mystified about uploading photos, but I will figure it out if you want to see more of my home!)

Neighborhood

I really love my neighborhood. It is quiet and residential, but also close to restaurants, coffee shops, food co-op, parks, bus and highway access. Diverse, multi-cultural and laid-back.

Seward Park was designed by the Olmstead brothers (who also designed Central Park) and features eagles, herons, playground, beach, jogging/walking paths, trails, pottery studio, Audubon Center, and some old growth forest. (www.sewardpark.org)

Escape to nature: Walk 10 minutes to see eagles (winter and early spring), herons and old growth forest in Seward Park (designed by the Olmstead Brothers, who also designed New York City's Central Park). Jog along the miles and miles of shoreline.

Feel hip in the city: Walk 5 minutes to upscale grocery co-op, coffee house, restaurant. Drive 3 minutes to the Columbia City neighborhood, filled with hip restaurants, upscale bakery, charming shops, and our very own movie theater serving home-made popcorn in brown paper bags.

For religious services: There are two synagogues (Sephardic) within walking distance. Many churches are nearby, including a Catholic church 3 blocks away. There are even nuns in habits who live down the next block.

To go downtown: My house is a 20 minute drive to downtown Seattle, or you can walk 5 minutes to major bus lines (35 minutes on the express bus, 45 minutes on the local).

While my home and backyard are very quiet, be advised that I live on a well-traveled street (cars drive by every few minutes, and occasionally there are fire truck sirens).
