Description

Coatepec is an ideal location to visit. This is an almost undiscovered region of Mexico filled with lush green coffee plantations, raging rivers, colonial towns and majestic ruins. The State of Veracruz has a rich history, physical beauty, artistic legacy and an astounding variety of climate, ranging from the hot humid tropics to the high mist shrouded rain forests. Coatepec is a Colonial town of about 60,000 located just 15 minutes from bustling Jalapa with its world class museum, art and music events and good restaurants.

My home is spacious with 2 bedrooms, an office with a trundle bed, living and dining rooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The house sits on the side of a hill over looking a nature reserve and is very peaceful and quiet. Birders love the area and the months of October and November are great for butterfly lovers!

The home has hand painted decorative tile, lots of wood, soaring ceilings and comfortable furnishings.

Neighborhood

Coatepec is a small friendly town known for its organically grown coffee. There are all sorts of nature activities to choose from including: horseback riding, river rafting, rappelling, hiking, bicycling, fishing, and birding. Jalapa offers all the advantages of a large city with music and art events, restaurants, museums, and night life. Veracruz is one and a half hours away where night life and beaches are the main attractions.

About Us

I am a North American who has made Mexico my home. I have lived here since 1989 when I came to Mexico to teach in the National University. I own a Spanish language school, an eco-lodge (www.VistasVeracruz.com), a shop (www.milagrosparati.com), and am an on-line editor writing a weekly column on Mexico for BellaOnline.

I speak English and Spanish.

For this trip the dates have been set. However, I am interested in future exchanges and am flexible as to dates. Anywhere in the world will be considered!
