Description

A large house on two floors. Huge living room with large picture window overlooking village and valley. Fireplace with ample supply of wood. Three bedrooms on upper floor, one with double bed, two with single beds, one of the two has a sofa bed as well. Lower level has two double beds. Crib available. Dining room with views, reading nook with bookshelf and sofa, Kitchen with all amneties, including microwave, coffee machine, breakfast nook. Washing machine in seperate first-floor laundry room. Two bathrooms, one with a separate tub and shower, with a family-size sauna. Outside is a private yard with a small sledding hill. Large balcony runs 1/2 the house. Grill, high speed internet and TV included.

Neighborhood

Aal is a village on the main train line between Oslo and Bergen, a half hour and 45 minutes drive, respectively, from two of Norway's premier downhill ski areas (Geilo and Hemsedal). The house is located on a mountain 10 minutes by taxi from the train station/village center with spectacular views of the valley and fjord below, as well as mountain ranges. The neighborhood is quiet, sparsely populated, and five minutes walk to the beginning of a network of cross-country skiing / hiking trails. Enjoy a traditional Norwegian country lifestyle, with folk museums, wilderness parks, Europe's largest mountain plateau, numerous cross-country skiing (or hiking) trails all within easy driving distance.

About Us

We are a family of four, with two children 5 and 2, who have travelled extensively around the world. Our children have slept in 15 different countries and we're eager to experience some more homes! We speak English, German, and Norwegian.

Destination

Dates are somewhat flexible, as is length of stay. Would prefer New England or easy driving distance from.
