Description Neighborhood About Us Destination

Description

Our 3-bedroom house is two years old and has three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a private bath. The living/dining/kitchen areas are open and make one large living area. We have a large backyard bordered by mature trees.

Neighborhood

Our house is located in a newer neighborhood in a smaller Texas town (pop. 100,000) about 45 min. from both Dallas and Fort Worth. In this part of Texas you will basically need to drive everywhere but we can include our car in the exchange. The neighborhood has a community pool and children's play area and contains a large large with walking trails. There are lots of families in the neighborhood. Both Dallas and Fort Worth contain lots of cultural opportunities--museums, plays, art, sports teams. Our town also has festivals in the summer.

About Us

We are a multicultural and multilingual family with three children who love to travel. We go to Japan for 2 months out of every year and are not using our home at that time. We are both professors at the university in town, one of us interested in history and the other in linguistics. We speak Japanese and Spanish, besides English.

Destination

This can be a non-simultaneous exchange. Our university schedule ends on May 13th (2008) and we could stay in a home in Mexico for a couple of weeks at that point. We'd love to find a home to exchange in Japan, where we generally go for two months beginning at the end of May. We'd also like to find a home in Mexico where we could be immersed in regular life (for a language learning experience for the children) anytime in the month of August (preferably for the entire month of August), or starting the last week of July.
