Description

My house is a 4 bedroomed detached house built in 1998. There are 2 bathrooms (1 ensuite) with walk in showers and a downstairs toilet.
The house has a double garage and basement.
I have a study and there is internet access via a home network.
The driveway has electric gates and the garage has electrically operated door. Although I have not included car in exchange this is subject to negotiation (for insurance reaons).

Neighborhood

Everything you need is within walking distance. Shops are 10 mins walk. There are 2 train stations 5-10 mins walk away with trains every 20 mins to Glasgow city centre (journey time less than 15 mins). Parks, golf courses, cinemas, shopping malls, leisure centres are all situated nearby. I have a large family network situated nearby should assistance be required.
The street I live in is a child safe having no through access and only 6 houses including my own.

About Us

I am 48 years old and have recently retired from Strathclyde Police. I am married and my wife is a housewife/homemaker. We have two daughters aged 12 and 9. We are non smokers and have stayed in Glasgow all our lives.
My interests include DIY and computing.

Destination

I would like to spend anywhere between 4 and 8 weeks in Canada, Australia or the United States during the summer months. During Xmas and New Year I would like to stay for 2 - 3 weeks somewhere with a warm climate.

I have arranged an exchange between 25/07/08 and 06/08/08 so can only consider anything offered for 2009 and beyond. Scottish school holiday periods (April/June-July-Aug/Dec-Jan) preferred.
