Appartment sleeps 2.
1 Double Bedroom, Sitting room, kitchen, small bathroom.
Very nice appartment (light, quiet) in an excellent building. Top (6th) floor with elevator. Decoration only finished this autumn.
Would suit very careful couple, who take a lot of care of their own (and my) things!
Living room has 1 sofa, hifi, table + 4 chairs
Bedroom has 1 double bed + cupboards
Kitchen has oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, plus plenty of pots and pans, etc.
Bathroom has shower.

The building is a turn of the century purpose-built appartment block - 6 buildings around a central courtyard.

The appartment has 5 windows, crossing both sides, so it is very light: since its on top floor, there is no one running around to disturb you inthe morning.

It would be easier for both of us to leave sheets, towels, etc., rather than taking them to the end of the earth!

Since the decoration is all brand new, and essentially I'll be leaving practically all my stuff in the place during the exchange, it really is very important that we agree on things being fine.

Neighborhood

About 30 minutes walk from Center (Marais), 5 minutes from rue Mouffetard (which is a market street on the side of the Quartier Latin). One of the new bike rental pick-up points (Velib) in front of the house; 5 minutes to the metro, and bus stops in front of the house. Plenty of small restauraunts, food shops and neighbourhood life near the appartment.

Its a good residential neighbourhood of the type that Parisiens like - because not noisy, no tourists, and fairly close to the center!

A taxi to the Marais or Bd St Germain will cost euro 5 - 10 per trip, and is easy to get from outside the house.

The appartment is about 10 minutes walk from Denfert-Rochereau - on the direct train line from Charles de gaulle airport and Orly Airport.



About Us

I'm a gay single guy, selling design items for the house (including most of the furniture in this appartment). i work for myself with about 4 employees. I'm British but have been living in paris for about 15 years. I speak English, French, Italian.

I'm wanting a flat swap over Christmas / New Year in Cape Town since I've been given tickets with a friend to South Africa. We were meant to be staying with a friend, but she's now rented the house out for the entire year and so we have to find an alternative.

Since my appartment is free - and frankly great - I was wondering whether I could find the similar kind of thing in Cape Town and so we could both get a great deal!

Destination

I suppose that if your appartment in S Africa was free for my dates in Christmas, we could find a reciprocal date to suit you when I'm not there next year: eg around mid-April for a week when I'm at a fair in Milano, or in August.

It would also be possible for us to stay in the appartment of someone in Cape Town who was also living there - so long as the appartment is very big and well appointed, and we can have a long correspondence before hand to make sure that we will get on....
(I'm coming with a friend -another guy - but we are not lovers, although if there's only a double bed, that is not going to be a problem - the French are flexible!)

I really do care an awful lot about cleanliness and that my house is kept in order when I am not there, and so please please do not reply unless you are that kind of person.
