Description

Our 2 storey single family home of approximately 180m2 (1600 square feet) is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood, less then 20 minutes from downtown. It has a finished basement (bedroom, T.V. room and a bathroom with a shower). Our ground floor includes a family room (T.V. VCR, DVD), living room, dining room, bathroom, laundry room with washer and dryer as well as a fully equipped kitchen (microwave and dishwasher). On the second floor we have a computer room, 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms.

Neighborhood

Our home is located close to the Greenbelt (nature area) in the bilingual eastern suburb of Ottawa called Orleans.
In the Ottawa area in winter, you can enjoy skating on the Rideau Canal and both downhill and cross-country skiing. The Capital of Canada is also known for its wonderful museums, artistic and cultural events, festivals (some of them : Winterlude in February, Tulips in May, Jazz in June, Blues July), hiking and cycling paths.
Downtown Montreal is a 2 hours drive, Quebec City and Toronto (5 hours).

About Us

We are both French elementary school teachers who will be on leave from January 2009 to August 2009. We would like to live in a different town while giving our 14 year old daughter the opportunity to study a full semester in a 100% Anglophone environment. In Ottawa, the second semester runs from the end of January until the end of June and includes a week off in March. We are looking for a similar house in a quiet neighbourhood near a good high school. We would also appreciate to be near recreational facilities. We are non-smokers and are looking for the same.

Destination

We would like a house from the end of January until the end of June 2009 but ours would be available to you until the middle of August. In Canada, we are looking to stay in the Vancouver or Calgary area.
If we are not in Canada, our truck camper could also be available.
