Description

Our 1884 house is in San Francisco, a beautiful Victorian house on quiet block in one of San Francisco's hottest neighborhoods (both sunny-wise and culturally speaking)

We have a 4 bedroom house (three bedrooms + office which can sleep someone too) in the trendy, colorful mission district, near public transportation (BART subway is 5 min to downtown) and right off Valencia street (best restaurants and bars, hip night life, mural walking tours)

house has period detail, bay windows, wooden banisters, old wood floors, country porch, mexican tile patio with barbecue, grassy lawn with fruit trees and lounge chairs, back yard has a heated endless swimming pool for lap swim and frolicing!

Wood Burning Fireplace in living room, Large satellite TV with Tivo and premium cable, DSL computer, wash/dryer, dishwasher etc, elliptical and treadmill exercise machines in basement, ping pong table, hammock, bikes to borrow

Neighborhood

trendy, colorful mission district, near public transportation (BART subway is 5 min to downtown) and right off Valencia street (best restaurants and bars, hip night life, mural walking tours)

5 minute walk to charming Noe Valley shops. Our area is flat but big hills are close by for great views and fun rides.

About Us

we are two adults, NY-transplants who work at home, as a freelance journalist and an academic. We have one sweet cat and a 5 year child old whose room is full of fun toys for young kids. We love our neighborhood, its so close to everything and has terrfic burritos and fine dining. the neighbors are terrific too.
we love our home and want swappers who will treat it with the care and respect that a 123 year old painted lady deserves. (San Francisco's colorfully 2 and 3 or 4-tone houses are called painted ladies, walking around and admiring them is a fun way to spend the day_

Destination

Hoping to find a winter vacation swap in Hawaii this winter dec 07/jan 08 preferred, also spring break maybe or summer, flexible on location, somewhere with swimming.
