Stay in the centre of the beautiful, musical town of Ennis, Co. Clare

Europe / Ireland / Clare / Ennis

Close To   Limerick (20 Miles)

Description

A newly renovated old, light-filled townhouse, located in the centre of the medieval town of Ennis with it's small winding streets, lively traditional atmosphere. It is a perfect base from where to explore the West coast of Ireland.

The house is located on a quiet residential road, three minute's walk from the charming streets of Ennis with its shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.

The house is a two-storey, restored terraced house. Downstairs consists of a open plan kitchen-sitting-dining room (with original hardwood floors, cast-iron fireplace), which looks out on a stone-paved courtyard. Upstairs are two bright and spacious bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed, (one with a separate walk-in wardrobe room) and a small bathroom. There is a free broadband connection available.

It is a clean and very comfortable, easily manageable, bright home and it is in a fantastic location!

Neighborhood

The road on which the house is located is a quiet, well-settled, residential road, right in the heart of the charming town of Ennis. Ennis is quite a compact town and walking is the best way to get around it. There are lovely old winding streets, a weekly farmer's market, and lovely cafes and pubs. There is a useful shop around the corner from our house for basics, and shops, market area, and shops, restaurants and pubs are within 3 minutes walk of the house.

The museum, theatre, and cinema are all a ten minute walk away, with the leisure centre and swimming pool approx. 20 minutes walk. The train station is located 5 minutes walk away. - this would be handy for a day trip to Dublin (little over 3 hours), or taking a train trip in to Limerick (45 minutes)

There is a lovely atmosphere in the town and Ennis is a colourful place with a great tradition of Irish traditional music. It has a reputation as being a friendly welcoming place and it really is a great location for exploring the rest of Ireland.

Ennis is situated a half hour's drive from Limerick City, an hour from Galway City and a half an hour from the beautiful Burren region in North Clare. Surfing beaches of Lahinch and Doonbeg are within an hour's drive, as are the Cliffs of Moher and the Shannon Estuary with it's large population of dolphins. There are world-class golf links at Doonbeg and Lahinch as well as golf courses in Ennis and throughout County Clare.

Shannon Airport is 25 minutes drive away.

About Us

We are a couple in our early 30's who enjoy travelling and are interested in getting to know the cultural life of a new destination - its people and way of life.

We enjoy swimming, watersports, walking, horse-riding and at the moment are trying to learn to surf....

We speak a little Spanish, French and German.

Destination

We are very, very flexible with our exchange dates.

However, we would probably have a preference for November, early January, June, July, August.

Japan, Canada, Ecuador and the USA would all hold an attraction for us, but we are very open to all offers from all corners of the world!
