Description

I love my condo - located in a vintage building, it is about 800 square feet and has an open floor plan. The decor is what I'm most proud of - the colors are lively and inviting and I have a wonderful little collection of art. I also have a little piano (should you play). I have all wood floors, big east-facing windows and high ceilings. The living area is open to the kitchen, which is small, but fully functional. There is a breakfast bar with granite countertops and a great spot for having a cup of coffee and reading the newspaper or unwinding with a glass of wine after a full day of exploring the city. I have wireless internet and cable tv in both the living area and in the bedroom. The first bedroom is large and open, with a full size bed and has a full bank of windows that face a lovely little park that is catty corner from my building. The smaller bedroom was a den and holds a little twin size bed. Perfect for a child or travel companion. There is one bathroom off the main bedroom, which is small but has a little jacuzzi. My place is wonderful year round, but I think it's coziest in the fall and winter!

Neighborhood

Chicago's Gold Cost neighborhood is the premier location -everything is within walking distance - shopping, restaurants, nightlife, theaters, museums. The Gold Coast is an historic neighborhood and is the home of some of the most beautiful old mansions in Chicago. I often fall asleep to the clip clop of horse drawn carriages. My building is two blocks from Chicago's beautiful lake shore, where you can exercise or just enjoy the lovely view; it is also only a few blocks from Lincoln Park, a 1200 acre park along Chicago's lakeshore and home to Lincoln Park Zoo. Cabs are plentiful and public transportation (bus and subway) is 3 to 4 blocks away.

About Us

I am a 29 year old woman who works in the financial industry. I also have a creative side. I do some freelance graphic design work, and enjoy painting and playing the piano. I'm planning on taking some time off to "get back to my core" between jobs. I have a 9 year-old dog who is my travel companion, and am looking for a quiet place to regroup.

Destination

My dates are flexible and I'm not married to any specific place or region. I prefer a quiet and charming destination that is an escape from all of the distractions I'm so accustomed to in the city. I'd be a perfect city mouse to switch temporarily with a country mouse. I'm looking for peace and quiet and a place to take long walks (beach would be great!). I'd love to take my dog with me (who is basically an old lap dog) but it isn't a must. I do need to have internet access.
