Description
Built in the 1930's, our 2-bedroom/1 bath villa has a well-equipped kitchen with cooking fireplace, separate summer kitchen with stove, freezer and a second refrigerator and a garden. Facing south from the terrace, one can see the Tiber Valley and forests, and in the distance, the Appennine Mountain range. Looking west, we face an ancient deconsecrated church, in clear view beyond our lavender garden.
Floors are tumbled travertine, windows are tall, with views from each room. There is a formal dining room, and a cooking fireplace in the kitchen. We have satellite T V reception and AriaDSL.
Depending on the season, we have vegetables and herbs in the garden, dozens of lavender and boxwood and many roses on gravel paths.
We have olive,peach, cherry, persimmon, plum, apple, loquat, fig and hazelnut trees on the property as well as approximately 100 roses.
We sit outside under the pergola covered with wisteria for meals and relaxing, and there are numerous chairs in which to loll the days away.
Neighborhood
The property sits at the entrance to a medieval borgo of eighty permanent residents, all of whom we find welcoming, even if the only language spoken here is Italian.
We are one km from the famous Sacred Grove of Bomarzo, affectionately called The Monster Park, built by the Orsini family in the 16th century.
We are 3km from the Attigliano/Bomarzo exit of the A-1, and one exit south of the very interesting town of Orvieto.
Conveniently located one hour south of Tuscany, 47 minutes to Termini Station in Rome by train, we are also located in close proximity to Southern Umbria, including towns of Amelia, Deruta, Terni, Todi. We are approximately one hour south of Perugia.
Fruit and vegetable trucks arrive in our tranquil village on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday, a fish truck on Friday, and a porchetta and meat truck on Wednesday. Otherwise, good shopping is available in the next town.
Company of our four year old basotto (wire haired dauchsund), Sofi, is an option, at your request. We are sorry, but other animals cannot be accommodated.

The property is extremely quiet; this is a perfect place for a tranquil rest and reading, walking and day trips to nearby towns.
About Us
Evanne is a painter and sometimes even a writer, although she's somewhat obsessed at the present time with painting, finding it much more rewarding than painting ceramics, a craft she gave up last year. Paintings around the house are almost all for sale.

We are Americans who have owned our property for ten years and have lived here full time for five. We recently purchased our next property, our cemetery plot, which can be seen at the little cemetery nearby. But we expect to be in our bit of heaven here for some time before moving on...
We speak English, passable Italian, and a few words in French and German.
Destination
Our dates are fairly flexible. We are interested in a small house in the South of France, preferable Provence, near an interesting town or village. We are ultimately interested in finding an ongoing swap for perhaps two trips a year, spring and fall. One of us is a painter, and we are in love with French gardens with gravel and boxwood and roses. We enjoy walking, eating good food, cooking, reading, painting, and tranquil surroundings. Birds singing are an added plus. We have stayed in San Remy du Provence and Usez, and loved some of the smaller towns around, especially the local weekly markets.
