Description

This cozy 2 bedroom home is lovely in it's simplicity. The eat in kitchen is pure country, with it's blue cupboards and french doors, and the livingroom, with it's electronic "baby grand" piano, acoustic guitar, and karaoke machine, is a perfect retreat for a music lover.

Sit on the couch and watch the boats go by on the river across the way, or take your coffee out through the french doors onto the deck overlooking the large fenced backyard. A profusion of lilac trees scent the air in the spring, and the apple blossoms grow into stury red apples come fall. A multitude of roses add riotous colour from midsummer to fall. There is an above ground pool that can be erected and used as well, if you wish.

The fridge and stove are gas, and the washer and dryer are in the basement, which is partially finished. There is also a cold storage room downstairs.

The main bedroom is upstairs. There is a double bed, as well as a daybed, and a large, hexagonal aquarium filled with tropical fish that will need to be fed.

The second bedroom is downstairs, and is home to 4 birds, including an African Grey parrot. Arrangements can be made to remove the birds to another location.

The office is off of the kitchen. There is a large desk, high speed wireless internet connection, printer, fax, copier, a wall of bookshelves filled with books, and another aquarium, this one full of hungry cichlids.

Neighborhood

The Belleview Marina is right across the street, half a block down, and walking trails lead from the Marina to the Park, with it's duck pond, play area, and greenhouse.

The neighbours are friendly, and there is a convenience store, grocery store, and several fast food outlets nearby.

The hospital is a 20 minute walk down the street; if you walk 10 more minutes, you're downtown, with it's shops, restaraunts, museum, library, and hockey arena. If you'd rather drive, it will take you all of 5 minutes to get to the mall, the Agawa Canyon Tour Train, or the Casino. The International Bridge to the Sault Ste. Marie Michigan is only 10 minutes away.

About Us

I live alone, with 2 poodles, several birds, and fish. I taught for several years and am now pursuing a career in writing. I write for the local paper part time, and have just finished writing the final draft of a children's book manuscript (cross your fingers that I'll find a publisher ;-0).

I'm a non smoker, and, due to health reasons, can only exchange with other non smokers. I'm an avid reader and my home is filled with books; fiction and non-fiction. I have a membership at Club Cabana, a "spa" located in a local hotel, and there is a good chance that my membership can be used by visitors to my home. The club has a small workout area, change room, and a lovely pool area complete with faux waterfall, adult pool, wading pool, indoor and outdoor hottubs, and sauna.

In case you're wondering why I said "no pets"...it's because I'm allergic to cats and to all dogs, unless they're poodles. Poodles are welcome :-).

Destination

I'm flexible; I work at home. I'd really like to set up an exchange for this time next year (Jan/Feb/Mar/Apr2008). I'd be very willing to trade snow for sun, if anyone wants that sort of trade. If you like snowshoeing or cross country skiing, there are great trails 15 minutes away. Downhill trails are a bit further; you'd have to drive half an hour at least.

I think simultaneous exchanges would be best, unless someone wanted to come here in the summer, in which case I could take the animals and go to my parent's camp. If you're interested contact me and we'll see if we can work something out.

Oh, and because I'm single, this house isn't really set up for kids. If you have a child and don't mind sharing a room with him/her, that would be OK. It's probably better for singles or couples though.
