Description

Our house is a lovely period Victorian house, with two reception rooms, with original marble open fire place, and a dining room and separate kitchen. There are four bedrooms, two of them are double, one is a study/bedroom. There are two bathrooms.
In the garden we have a small lawn surrounded by flower beds, and you can dine on the patio under the shady vine.
The house was built in 1891, and had been maintained to a high standard. It lies in a quiet road. There is a side entrance for easy access to the garden.
You can park outside the house.
We have lived and brought up our three children in this house since 1978.

Neighborhood

The house is situated in a leafy north London borough. The Underground station is only five minutes walk away, and will get you into central London in under half an hour. Camden Town is only ten minutes away.
Our home is on a friendly, quiet residential street directly off the High Road.
There are many pubs, cafes and restaurants, which range from Thai to Indian, Turkish and Italian. There is also a superb fish and chips shop!
The Art Deco cinema (Britain's oldest working cinema), The Phoenix, shows both English and foreign language films, as well as movie classics.
The local shops - supermarket and delis - allow for easy shopping.
The house is within walking distance of green spaces, among them historical Highate Woods. There is easy access to Hampstead Heath, with its lovely walks and stunning views over London. Cherry Tree Woods in the local park with public tennis courts, a cafe and a children's play area.
Muswell Hill, with its many trendy delis and restaurants, is also a short walk away.

About Us

We are academics at the University of London. We enjoy travelling to all parts of the world for our research and also for pleasure, e.g. Austria, France, Germany, Italy, USA, Canada, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan.
We speak English, German, French, Italian.
We love skiing, walking in mountains, sailing, horse riding.
We have two dogs, a springer and a black labrador. (These will stay with friends while we are away.)

Dates are flexible.

We want to spend Christmas and New Year in the French Alps - Isere, Savoie, Haute Savoie.
You can experience the Christmas party season in London and hit the Sales on 26th December!
