Description

Modest and comfortable family home in the most popular residential suburb of Nottingham. Beautiful and unusual features - see photographs- with all the usual appliances. Fabulous 100 foot garden backs onto the Nottingham/Grantham Canal (no longer working, but means we have ducks in the garden!): it catches the sun all day and is great for playing in, resting and eating al fresco. Main bedroom has double bed and other two bedrooms are singles, but with guest beds. Our fourth bedroom is used as a study and you would have access to the internet.

Neighborhood

A quiet and lovely suburb. 15 minutes from the town centre yet surrounded by green fields. Lady Bay is known as the friendliest part of town - a village within a city. Lovely walks to be had by the river, several parks just 5 minutes walk away - as is a skate board park. Close to all amenities and with a number of good eating places 10 minutes walk away in West Bridgford town centre.
Nottingham is in the middle of England making it easy to visit other parts of the country. We are surrounded by great historic sites - 1 hour away from Stratford-Upon-Avon; 50 minutes away from Warwick Castle; 1 hour from the greatest of all histroic houses - Chatsworth - set within the beautiful Peak District National Park (but our personal favourite there is Haddon Hall); and many other places of interest.
We are 40 minutes away from East Midlands Airport that has cheap flights to Edinburgh, Dublin and main land Europe, again making us a great point from which to explore.

About Us

We are a family of four. Chris is a head teacher at a local school; Jean is a freelance arts manager and our two boys Charlie 13 and Tom 11 are both at secondary school. We have done lots of exchanges and love travelling, seeing new sights and meeting people. We can get by in French and Italian. Our interests are sport, cooking, gardening, the arts and culture. We are very respectful of our exchange partners' homes and don't mind doing low level pet care. We would be happy to exchange cars - we have a Volvo V40 estate that seats 5 comfortably.

Destination

We are open to absoutely all offers - happy to go anywhere and everywhere.
Our main holiday is in the summer school vacation period, but would be happy to consider weekends in the UK, or week long breaks at Christmas/New Year and Easter.
