Description

We live in a large country French 4 bedroom 4.5 bath home with 2 fireplaces in a small private gated community. The 4600 square foot house sits on over an acre with about 250 feet of lake frontage. Fish from the back yard or tour the lake from our 3 person paddleboat. Or just feed the fish in our charming koi pond. When you are not fishing or enjoying the Houston sights, you will be more than comfortable in our lovely home. There is a study, a gameroom and a theater room to keep you entertained. Our large pool also has a jacuzzi. You can have fabulous family time all year cooking out in our summer kitchen which boasts a kegerator, a sink, a grill and a large burner for woking or boiling crawfish. From our balcony there is a lovely view of a charming mill complete with waterfalls and a wheel. We have 2 washers and 2 dryers, 2 refrigerators and 2 freezers. The breakfast room seats 10 and the dining room can be set up to seat 10. There are 7 reclining theater seats with room for several more "regular" chairs. Wherever you are, you will be comfortable!

Neighborhood

Our neighborhood is a small private gated community with about 80 houses. We have a charming cobblestone road at the entry that leads to a mill that towers above 3 small ponds joined by waterfalls. All homes are on 1 to 10 acres. There is a small playground and a lovely cobblestone bridge. There is a creek that winds through the back perimeter of the neighborhood. Deer, lightning bugs, and humming birds are often around. It is idyllic! I didn't take many neighborhood pictures, but am always willing to email more pictures if you are interested.

We are about 35 minutes from Houston Intercontinental Airport. About 45 minutes to an hour from Houston. An hour from the Science Museum and its fabulous living Butterfly exhibit. About an 1 hour 30 minutes from NASA , Moody Gardens, Shlitterbaun, and Galveston. 2 hours from Austin. 3 hours from Dallas. 40 minutes from the Galleria. 15 minutes from a mall and other good shopping. 15 minutes from The Woodlands. 15 minutes from Lake Conroe. We are a great base for numerous fabulous day or morning trips including a nearby winery. Professional sporting locations are about an hour away.

We are close enough to the city to have tons to do, but far enough away to enjoy a peaceful environment.

About Us

We are a family of four. My husband is a geologist and I am a teacher. ( I am taking this year off to travel and spend time with my kids.) Our daughter is 18 and is attending University. Our son is 15 and is a Sophomore in high school. My husband and son are avid golfers. I love antiques. (Our house has quite a few!) We have a dog and a cat, but they can stay with friends while we are gone. Our pet fish (2 koi) have to stay on the property, but require no care or feeding. Unfortunately, we are not fluent in any other language, but between us we understand a little French and a little Spanish. My husband is currently taking Portugese lessons.

Destination

We are open to going anywhere interesting. In the Carribean we would want something near the beach not too far inland. Also interested in Europe. (Especially Scotland or Italy.) A skiing location is also a possibility. We don't really have to do a simultaneous exchange if it is during a holiday or during the summer, but we cannot leave home during the school year unless it would just mean one or two weekdays. (for a couple more years anyway, then both kids will be at university and we will travel much more often!)
