A small slice of paradise.

I own a beach cottage, approximately 1000 square feet, located in Santa Cruz, CA in the neigborhood called Live Oak. It is 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with small patio back yard with no pets. Nice sized laundry room and kitchen with gas stove, oven, microwave and outside BBQ grill.

The nearest beach is a 10 minute walk and it is call Twin Lakes State Beach and just down the ways is the Santa Cruz Yacht Club and Harbor with resturants and bars with delicious food and drink where you can also enjoy awesome ocean views and sunsets.
This is an ideal homebase and launching point if you want to explore locally, all that Santa Cruz beaches (lost of surfing!) and mountains (Red Wood forests: Big Basin State Reserve) have to offer. This is a great and launching point if you want to explore Monterrey (aquarium), Napa/Sonoma (wine country), San Francisco, Yosemite or even drive up to Tahoe (ski resort).

I also own a home in Houston, TX - 3BR/2.5BA, with a newly remodeled spa-like master bathroom, if that is also of interest. I will make a posting eventually.

Neighborhood

Friendly residential beach community in the neighborhood called Live Oak. Short walk (10 min) to the beach, local community pool Swim Center is across the street. Also near by are the mountains of Santa Cruz, perfect for camping and day hikes. Also day trips or over night trips to Monterrey (Aquarium), San Francisco, Wine Country (Napa/Sonoma), Yosemite and Tahoe are possible too.

Downtown Santa Cruz, is very eclectic and has a wide variety of ethnic restuarants, fun bars with live bands and some night-life, too!

About Us

It is time to get out again and experience the rest of the world without laptops and cell phones (must shut-off)!

I am a Silicon Valley technology knowledgeworker and just took a business transfer from Houston, TX approximately 1 year ago and now live in the sunny beach town of Santa Cruz, CA. My husband is a techno-business, oil and gas man who travels continuously, so we really value our togetherness, especially vacation which with our schedules is very rare. Hence, our situation above with 2 underutilized homes one in Santa Cruz, CA and one in Houston, TX.

We have been happliy married now, since graduate school, no kids, though, for 8 years. We are both 35 years old, already? And needless to say, love to travel the world.

I am fluent in Spanish as I lived in Spain for 1 year while in college and travelled thorough out Europe by train. Recently I have been visiting parts of Asia (India and Thailand) and Latin America (Mexico, Belize, Honduras and Costa Rica).

We are flexible with dates and locations and are mostly interested in quiet time, relaxing, some spa/massage/yoga/gym activities, love animals, excursions (beach, mountains, just about anywhere). This year 2008, we are targeting, but not limited to these places, mid-June either Costa Rica or Puerto Rico, and in October Mexico, Carribean, Argentina, Spain or Greece, but open to other opportunites similar or different, as well! Did I mention that we are flexible? ;-)
