Description

Our house is a beautiful traditional house with original decorated cielings and old world charm. It has four bedrooms, three of which are big, one medium. Two of the bedrooms have hardwood floors and the other have carpet.

The open plan kitchen is big with a table that seats 6 people. The amenities are not top of the range but average. It has a good dishwasher, over, grill and four hobs. It has plenty of storage space.The floor is tiled and the kitchen has a worktop island.

The laundry is small but has a good washing machine and dryer and plenty of drying space on the line outside.

The front room is big with hardwood floors. The hall also has hardwood floors and hooks for coats.

This house is a home with a lovely atmosphere to it. We love it because it is quaint and comfortable.

Neighborhood

Summer Hill is like a small village. The street that we live in is tree-lined and very peaceful. It has a station that gives you 20 minute access to the city and all it's wonders. It has a central square with a diverse range of cafes, restaurants (including a fantastic seafood place and a restaurant where on wednesdays they have performances by a local drag queeen) and unusual and interesting shops.

We have a pool in the back garden which is essential for the summer months and we have a porch where you can sit out and enjoy a drink on a hot summer's night.

We are located within easy reach of the blue mountains, one and a half hours away with all it's many attractions. We are 30 minutes from Sydeny's beautiful beaches and 10 minutes from fantastic shopping. We are located next to the chinese part of sydeny with lovely traditional chinese restaurants.

About Us

We are a small family of mum and two children.

I am a children's counsellor, my son goes to a performing arts school and my daughter is still in primary school.

We are a well travelled family and all ready my children have travelled more than the average adult!!

The house has all the usual stuff that kids enjoy, an xbox, computer etc..but I'm sure you're not coming to Sydney for that!!

We have a dog, cat, rabbit and a mouse. The dog and mouse will be looked after but it would be good if you could care for the rabbit and the cat. Quite independant animals...just feed and water. The rabbit is called Flash (he's very fast) and the cat is a big stripped thing (some would say fat!!) called Tiger.

We watch a lot of films as a family and there is a great Blockbusters down in Summer Hill. We add to our collection regularly too.

We are not the tidiest family in the world so if you are a clean freak I apologise in advance. If you are more family orientated and can survive the odd child created memory then you will enjoy this house a lot more.However, the house will of course be cleaned reall, really well before you arrive.


Destination

Need to do a house exchange in southern california to come visit my brother who lives between Los Angeles and San Diego.

Apart from this trip am interested in an exchange in the southern hemispere, japan especially.
