Les Frenes is a lovely yellow stone cider barn set in 17 acres of gardens with tennis court, a lake for fishing and some lovely walks in the grounds among rare trees, flowers and birds. There is a Japanese Water Garden, as well as the River Vie flowing at the foot of the property. You can see full details on our website at www.lespatis.com

The house has exposed oak beams and pale yellow stone walls. It is split over two levels. It offers generous accommodation with spacious open plan living area with galleried landing, kitchen and large dining table. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms upstairs: 1 double ensuite and 2 twin rooms plus 2nd bathroom. It is carpeted throughout and is very cosy in winter as it is fully centrally heated. Neighborhood

Normandy is a beautiful region of France, easily accessible from the United Kingdom and yet a world away. It is a verdant land of delightful scenery, little colombage cottages nestling in the hills, friendly local people and of course delicious food and wine. The pace of life is slow, long leisurely lunches under a shady tree or in a little restaurant are an integral part of the day. The cheeses of the region are legendary and are named after many of our local towns Livarot, Pont L’Eveque. The village of Camembert is just 2 miles away . The North Coast with its golden sands and elegant seafront promenade is a pleasant drive away.

We are less than one mile away from the pretty town of Vimoutiers, where there are several cafes, restaurants, boulangerie and supermarkets. There are some excellent restaurants nearby. We are about 50minutes away from the North Coast and Normandy landing beaches, and just over an hour from Bayeux where the famous tapestry is on display.

About Us

We are a professional couple in our forties Deborah is a part time writer, and loves creative sewing and reading. Tim loves gardening. We both speak French. We have family in Eastbourne in Sussex and are always looking for exchanges nearby to see them. We are also interested in longer term exchanges in central london.
