Description

Pickwick was built in 1904 by a woman named Grace Blair. She ran the establishment as a boarding house until the 20's. The architecture is Arts and Crafts and offers are lovely garden in the back with a fenced yard for pets and for privacy. There is a working fireplace and a sprawling front porch for gathering together. There is a greenhouse and a small tree house/club house for children. The back yard is also equipt with a trampoline and a gas grill. Satellite television and internet access are also available. A small library is located upstairs and washer/dryer facilities are located in the basement.

Neighborhood

The neighborhood is centrally located in Springfield, MO and is made up of older homes with vastly differing architectural styles. A quaint tea house/cafe is located on Pickwick just a few houses down. Many folks in the neighborhood walk down with a bottle of their own wine and enjoy the patio and the cuisine in a very relaxed atmosphere. There are also two art galleries located near the cafe. Pickwick is located a few blocks from the historic downtown where you will find many quaint shops, restarurants, live theatre, parks, ice rinks, art galleries and even a minor league ball park.

About Us

We are a family of four who chose Springfield to live and work due to the simple, laid back, small town atmosphere which still offers many cultural opportunities and remains to be an affordable city to live in or to visit. We enjoy visiting new places and we find immence pleasure in learning about a place, first hand.... through the folks who actually live and reside there.

We are a very respectful and tidy group. We are also very laid back and accomodating. It is just as important to us to ensure that whomever visits our home, have a wonderful, enjoyable and relaxing time, as it is that we find the same wherever we go.
