Description

Conde Nast Traveller has rated Vancouver Island as the top island in North America, and Victoria 3rd of the top 10 cities in the Americas.

Our home was built in 1957, and completely renovated in 2001, when it became part of a 4-unit townhome complex.

It is approximately 180 square meters on 2 levels, with 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, kitchen with eating area, dining and living room, family room with home theater, and office.

Almost everything was replaced in 2001, but the upper level retains the charm of the 1950's with coved ceilings and hardwood floors. The lower level includes a bedroom, bathroom, the family room and a garage with electric door opener.

As part of the renovations an interior fire-sprinkler system was added. It is also energy-efficient with new windows, mainly halogen and fluorescent lighting, and natural gas heat and hot water.

The office has a fully equipped computer with printer and broadband internet access. In the family room there is a home theater system and sliding-glass doors to a small patio.

The bedrooms are of a modest size, one with a double-bed, one with a queen-size 'sleigh-bed' suite and the other with a king-size 'mission-style' bedroom suite.

There is also a small deck off the eating area in the kitchen with ocean glimpses of the inner harbour.

Neighborhood

Located on a short, dead-end street with a park at the end. It includes tennis-courts and children's playground. The park overlooks the inner harbour, and the Westsong Walkway that follows the harbour to downtown Victoria about 2 kilometers away.

We are close to shopping, parks, and recreation centre. The bus stop is about 50 metres from the front gate.

About Us

We are semi-retired IT systems managers. Our last exchanges were with New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, England, Germany and Japan. We would love to hear from anyone interested in home exchanges for 2008 and beyond.
