Friendly house, feels like visiting a Bed and Breakfast, except I do not offer breakfast. Often times two people who live in my home may be chatting in the livingroom, talking about local adventures from the previous day. Eventhough I moved to Wellesley in 1967 and feel that I know the area well, it is facinating to hear about the new adventures and explorations from my tenants. My home consists of 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths...however only 2 of the bedrooms with one private bath and one shared bath are available from August 1, 2007 through August 28, 2007. Wireless internet, satelite TV. Linens, towels and all kitchen amenities are included. Meile Washer and an American Dryer in basement. Each room has window air conditioners. There is plenty of off street parking available in my driveway. I think the house is beautifully decorated and past occupants always tell me how much they enjoy the convenience of the location of my home.
Neighborhood
Quiet and convenient location, just a 5 minute walk to Wellesley Hills Town Center, including a train (25 minutes to South Station), Whole Foods Market, Restaraunts, Post Office, Banks, Dry Cleaners, Copy Center, Brighams, Nail Salon, Fitness Center, Barber Shop, Pizza, hiking and jogging trails, etc. Just a 10 minute walk to public tennis courts. Take a 5 minute drive to Wellesley College (former President Clinton's wife, Hillary, went to school here) and stroll around scenic Lake Waban. Visit Babson College outdoor pool, or ice skating ring or fitness center. About 1/2 hour to Logan Airport (non-rush hour). Visit Morse's Pond in town for a local town beach, or drive one hour North to visit Singing Beach on the ocean. Drive to Cape Cod in 2-3 hours, depending on the exact destination. A must see is Nantucket Island for it's incredible beauty, located off shore from Cape Cod. Martha's Vineyard is my second most favorite local island destination, also off shore from Cape Cod. Enjoy a culinary treat at a local upscale restaraunt: Blue Ginger. Maugus Avenue, which butts up to Eaton Court has many young families with young children.
About Us
I am a single female and a Realtor who has lived here for about 20 years. Since the home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, I have usually rented some of the rooms to individuals, or the entire home to a family, or shared the home with either type situation. My tenants usually visit from overseas, to visit with family members in my area. Wellesley is a family type community, and perhaps the most desirable community in Massachusetts. We enjoy the highest MCAS scores (a way that students are rated for their performance). Therefore, we attract founders of corporations and mostly folks from around the world who want the best school systems for their children. Since I am a Realtor, often I have a family member who is relocating because of an employment opportunity, but has left the rest of the family behind to sell a home elsewhere in the world...while the spouse in my home starts work and seeks permanent housing for his/her family. I might say this works well with my profession, since I am a Realtor and can assist the new family in finding permanent housing during their relocation process. German was my first language, but I have not practiced speaking German on a daily basis, since I was a small child. I understand German better than I can speak it today. If I do a trade, most likely the home will not be private for the guest trading into my home because of the room rentals I do. I typically rent one or 2 of the rooms. If I trade at the same time that you are in my home, I can offer at least 2 bedrooms with one private bath and one shared bath. Typically, I keep one master bedroom as a guest bedroom, and would give up my own bedroom as well for a trade. I do not currently have children in the home, but in the past, there have been children here from time to time. There is a playground just one block from my home...a good place to meet neighbors with children.
Destination
I do not necessarily seek a barter during the exact same time when you wish to travel. I have the 2 bedrooms, 1 private bath and 1 shared bath available, now, and available upon even short notice. Since I am single, I would be very flexible to travel almost any time of year and would only need enough space to sleep me and a guest (two beds), but my availability offers 2 twin beds in one room, and a full size bed in the larger room, with use of all common areas in the home.
