Description

Take your next vacation cruising the Chesapeake Bay in style! Beneteau Oceanis 390 - 39 foot sailing sloop available for vacation exchange. Sleeps 6. Has AIR CONDITIONING and a wet locker with sit down shower. Has a kitchenette and galley supplies (dishes, utensils, etc). The sailboat is in good condition although the headsail needs to be winched open in addition to closed. Bed linens, towels, pillows, chart, and cruising guide provided. The boat is docked in the Annpolis, MD area.

Neighborhood

The sailboat is located behind our waterfront house in Annapolis, Maryland area. It is on a river that leads to the Chesapeake Bay which is the best sailing destination in the USA. There are many tributaries with beautiful peaceful settings to anchor in. If you prefer a marina with modern conveniences there are plenty to pick from.

Annapolis is a very quaint city with historic landmarks and shops and restaurants. It is famous for its seafood and there are several excellent waterfront restaurants in the area.

About Us

My husband and I enjoy traveling, sailing, movies, real estate, and reading. We are both well-educated and intellectual. He is an attorney and I am a psychotherapist. We have an outdoor cat who is extremely affectionate. We both love the ocean but we are down to earth and therefore not too picky about which beach and how fancy our accomodations are as long as they are clean, well enough kept up, and comfortable.

I speak French and lived in Europe as a child because of my father's profession as a foreign service officer. I loved traveling to the many countries in Europe then but unfortunately have not been able to go back much as an adult. My exposure to different cultures as a child made me very open-minded and I have always had international friends. I even have a sister-in-law who is Bulgarian. My brother and her are raising their children bilingual.

My husband and I would love the opportunity to exchange homes with someone who lives in the US near the ocean (preferably within driving distance of Maryland). We would also be interested in going to Europe preferably to a place near the water but we are open to other ideas.

Destination

Since our sailboat is almost always available, we could do a non-simultaneous exchange or a simultaneous one. The dates are flexible although we would love to have a vacation in earlly August if possible which we realize is last minute.

Our first choice is the United States East Coast close to the ocean and beach (preferably Delaware, Maryland, NJ, Virginia, and NC).

Europe would also be fabulous to visit especially an area also near the beach (south of France, Spain, Monaco, Italy, western Canada).

We are open to almost any place in Europe even if it is not near the water. The Alps are gorgeous and every town in Europe has quaint buildings, tourist sites, and fabulous cuisine.
