Enjoy the sunrise over the water from your bed, or depending upon time of year, view whales, sea lions, otters, seals, harlequin ducks, Canada geese, eagles and blue heron from the deck or living room. Step onto the beach or nearby walking trails. Kayak rentals available. An hour from ski resort.

My fully-furnished, modern, 2000 squarefoot West Coast cedar home has 2 bedrooms (one semi-detached) with queen beds and private baths, well-equipped kitchen, oceanview dining area and living room, laundry facilities and three decks. Central heating, wood backup. Internet, telephone, TV, VCR, DVD.

Neighborhood

Friendly, diverse, agricultural-based, environmentally concious, vibrant arts community, with basic amenities, small shops, cafes in village, Buddhist retreat center, and many social and high-calibre entertainment opportunities.

Hourly ferry service provides easy access (10 minutes) to Vancouver Island, minutes from Courtenay/Comox (nearest airport) and major retailers, restaurants, nightlife. Accessible to Victoria, Vancouver within a couple of hours. An hour away from major ski resort.

Retired educator; nature lover and conservationist. Enjoys travel, reading, writing, music, arts and handcrafts, walking. Interested in diverse cultures and lifestyles, psychology, archaeology, anthropology, politics.

Seeking warm, preferably sunny (not hot) holiday in small village or rural area on or near the sea for mid Dec 08-mid Jan 09. Otherwise open to options. Non-simultaneous exchange may be possible. Car trade optional.

Prefer small village or rural area on or near the sea in warm place for 1-2 mos. between Dec 08 and Feb 09.
