Description

The house is set in a very large private garden down a private drive, within walking distance of a small town.It is not overlooked and has views of the surrounding countryside. It was built in 1914 and is very spacious. The peak district national park is a 20 minute drive away. We can also offer a stay in a two bedroom traditional stone cottage on the coast in cornwall as part of the exchange, if required.
There are 2 double bedrooms, one twin, a single and a sofa bed in the study.
Upstairs there is a family bathroom and a wc downstairs.
We have two open fires, one in the lounge, one in the dining room. logs provided.
There is a large farmhouse style kitchen and separate utility with washer and dryer.
Hi-speed internet connection available.

Neighborhood

Ripley is a small market town with a variety of shops restaurants and pubs. Derby is a ten minute drive away. Matlock, the entrance to the peak district national park is a 15 minute drive away as are other beautiful areas of countryside such as chatsworth park and Haddon hall. As we live down a private drive it is very quite with no road noise at all.

About Us

We are both in our 50's Jan runs his own business and i teach in a unit for excluded pupils. Our two grown up children would like to join us for part of any exchange hence the offer of the cottage in cornwall which belong to our son. We love the coast, watersports, walking, cycling, in fact anything rather than just sitting!

Destination

Our daughter will be on placement at fremantle hospital from mid november 2007 until mid january 2008 so we are particularly interested in this period and destination, other than that we are interested in everything!
