Description

The house is 2400sf with large kitchen with granite countertop, back yard deck for fun barbeques and Jacuzzi to relax in, large living room with stone fireplace to cozy up to in the winter. The downstairs TV room can accommodate 3 people to sleep with a full size futon and leather couch. It also has its own bathroom with sink, toilet and huge Jacuzzi tub. The master bedroom has its own bathroom with shower and a queen size bed. The other two rooms have one twin size bed in each and there is a main bathroom with double sinks and a tub and shower. We just bought this home in late March of 2007 so we are still adding furniture and painting the inside. The living room couch is brand new modern leather sectional; the furnishings in the downstairs family room are leather also but older. Kitchen is stocked with everything you would need to cook and bedrooms and bathrooms with fresh linens. There is a front yard deck with bench and table and chairs to enjoy morning coffee and newspaper. Or enjoy the back deck with Barbeque and patio furnishings too. Home sites on .28 of an acre with a fully fenced back yard and attached two car garage.

Neighborhood

Our home is located in Zephyr Cove, NV in the upscale neighborhood of Skyland. It is on the East shore of Lake Tahoe. It is a great family neighborhood with Lake front mansion homes just down the block (including the famous Bill Harrah’s Villa where Elvis Presley, Sammy Davis Jr., Steve Martin, etc. etc. stayed). The neighborhood is kind of a mix of permanent home owners (like us) and second home owners and some vacation rental properties. We have our own private homeowner’s beach and trails through the forest to little coves with boulders to explore. Keep your eyes open for bears, deer and rabbits. This is truly an exquisite neighborhood in a park like setting. I would say this is a very nice house in an awesome location. We really enjoy our strolls down to the beach after dinner (just two blocks) and watching the sunset over beautiful Lake Tahoe. Our kids, ages 8 and 11 love the forest trails to the coves adjacent to the Skyland neighborhood. We enjoy our hot tub after a challenging day on the ski slopes in the winter. Honestly, winter or summer Lake Tahoe is a great vacation destination. We feel very fortunate we get to live here year round! The casino night life is just a 15 minute drive and the Nevada side of Heavenly Ski Resort is also just 15 minutes away. This neighborhood has easy access to the main highway in the winter. Although I recommend 4 wheel drive in the winter as it can get slick when we have our heavy snowfalls.

About Us

My name is Marcie and I have my own business as a Personal Chef here is beautiful Lake Tahoe. I am in my thirties. :( My website is www.MarciePersonalChef.com (so you can put a face to my writing). My husband, Chris is a Civil Engineer for a Private Consulting firm in nearby Roundhill, NV. He is in his early forties. We have two children, a girl age 8 and a boy age 11. They are really good kids, not hard on things or rough, they are very well behaved. I just have to deal with the typical brother sister teasing occasionally! We have two Jack Russell terriers too- that we absolutely adore!! Don't worry they won't be here when we exchange! Although I am sure you would love them too! We have lived in Tahoe for over 18 years now. We just bought this house in late March of 07. Before that we lived on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe (which is really only 25 minutes across town) on the California side. We love Tahoe and enjoy all it has to offer. Although I am not much of a skier, my husband and kids enjoy the nearby slopes and sledding. I would rather watch the gorgeous snow fall on the pine trees from INSIDE my cozy house! In the summer we enjoy hiking, biking, and swimming and fishing at the Lake. Ok honestly, I will only go hiking if there is a picnic at the end of it! :) Although we love the pine trees and the beautiful Lake we do enjoy a change of scenery, usually going to the ocean or we also enjoy New York City too. Currently we are looking to plan a family vacation to Napili Bay (Maui). We are not looking for anything fancy, we are just your average family. :)

Destination

We are flexible on the dates for someone to stay here. However, we need our stay to be either in mid to late Aug. of 07 or early to mid June of 08. We wish to stay in the Napili Bay area of Maui. We have family we can stay with while you stay at our home so it does not have to be a simultaneous exchange. We would like to stay 10 nights if that is possible and offer the same here. This is a great family home so of course kids are welcome too!
