Description

Lovely centrally located, colonial-style Mexican home with gas fireplaces in the living room and dining areas, and in the outdoor living area and bedrooms. We have a large modern kitchen with dishwasher and plant-filled patio and terraces with fountains and drop-dead views. Three bedrooms - one master bedroom with queen bed and attached bath and one twin with adjoining bath. There is also a queen bed in our "casita" (little house) that has an additional pull-out sofa, kitchenette, fireplace and bath. Our outdoor areas include a patio off the kitchen and master bedroom, a terrace with a wood-burning fireplace, outdoor wicker furniture and dining area, and an "upper terraza" with a roof, sofa and chairs for enjoying the views and the magnificent sunsets. We have a computer for your use, wireless internet access, free US phone calls through Vonage and a business center with fax capacity across the street.

We are one short level block from the Jardin (the main square) numerous restaurants, shops and art galleries. If you know San Miguel, you know that everything happens in Centro. Well, you could not be more centrally located, as absolutely everything is within walking distance of our casa.

If you like, our cook will prepare breakfast and the mid-day meal. Our housekeeper cleans and does laundry and other chores. We also have a gardener who cares for the many outdoor areas. Staying at "Quinta de Las Flores" allows for relaxing into the Mexican rhythm of life while behind the walls of our compound, and the opportunity to see all of the beauty that San Miguel offers when you venture outside. Completely remodeled in 2007, we are furnished with an eclectic array of art and antiques from Mexico and around the world.

Neighborhood

We are centrally located in the most desireable area of San Miguel, 1 short level block to the Jardin on a wonderful narrow cobblestone street. Art galleries, restaurants, all within walking distance - car not necessary - taxis charge $2.00 USD to go anywhere in town. San Miguel is the jewel of the Mexican colonial cities with wonderful dry year-round good weather, gold courses, theaters, hot springs and many other tourist opportunities. Easy flight from Houston, ample reliable transportation from Leon or Queretaro airports which we can arrange.

About Us

My husband and I are Americans, lawyers, and are semi-retired here in San Miguel where we enjoy the wonderful climate, the culture and the great generosity of the Mexican people. Our permanent U.S. home is on Plum Island, north of Boston. We speak English and some Spanish and we have lived here long enough to be able to make recommendations and "insider" tips on thinigs to do and see.

Destination

We are open to non-simultaneous exchanges and we are flexible with both dates and locations. If you are interested in San Miguel, let us know! We also do exchanges with our home on Plum Island (right across from the ocean), so you can ask us about that too.
