Description

We live in a 110 year old Victorian home in central Victoria, with a cottage attached. It has a big open fire and a wood stove, but also modern gas heating and electric stove. Surrounded by our private 13 acre garden we have history, privacy and relaxation.
It is big, two storied with four bedrooms, but we also have a cottage available near the house. We have our own lake, our own park, yet we are only ten minutes from a bustling little country town and only an hour and 15 minutes from melbourne.

Neighborhood

Castlemaine is a florishing country town that has become popular as a weekend retreat for Melbourne. It is very historical by Australian standards, with so many reminders of the Gold Rushes, yet all the restaurants, coffee lounges and stlyle of a popular country centre and even our own cinema/restaurant.
The walking, biking, nature trails and more adventurous stuff are just there for the doing.
Yet Melbourne is only 75 minutes away by train or car.

About Us

We are semi retired, but still go overseas from time to time to teach English as a foreign language. being new grandparents has recently enriched our lives, but we are hardly old crocks. We have a great social network, love walking in the wonderful hilly country all around our town and I play a lot of sport.
We like meeting people from other countries, have lived overseas many times and speak some French, Indonesian and Chinese between us.

Destination

As we have a separate cottage on our property we are happy with non-simultaneous exchanges. The particular trip we are planning now is for Sept/Oct this year, a liesurely drive around the Mediterranean (Spain/France Italy) then England.
However anywhere in Europe would be good, if not then, later.
