Maison

Our beautiful home in the Natal Midlands is on the Birnam Wood district road outside Howick. We have a large private and peaceful property of 6000 square meters within a residential country estate which is very secure. in all. The home is full of character although only two years old, with magnificent views overlooking farmlands. We have an outdoor private swimming pool as well as a Jaccuzzi Spa in the Gazebo in the landscaped garden.Our home has three beautifully decorated large bedrooms en suite as well as a fourth as part of a separate flatlet with lounge and kitchenette in the loft. The Kitchen, lounge and diningroom are open plan leading to a double-sided verandah on the north and south and is wonderful for entertaining. Their is satellite TV in every room.

Quartier

Our home is very well situated to visit the Drakensberg; Anglo-Zulu battelfields or the Natal coastline and Game reserves, because although we are centrally situated in the peaceful countryside, we are only five minutes from the N3. The Natal Midlands itself is very picturesque and attracts visitors from all over the country with its well known meander of country markets and crafters and artists and we also have lots of wonderful restaurants on our doorstep for fine and informal dining.

Bob and I have just retired and are keen to travel as much as possible. However we thought it would be a good idea to save on accommodation by "swopping homes" insteead of leaving our beautiful home empty and thereby finding homes of a similar standard and not economising.We enjoy walking in the countryside, cooking, sailing, watching rugby, cricket and tennis, reading and travelling. We have two cats and two small inside dogs, but if this is a problem can accommodate them elsewhere. We have a housekeeper and gardener every week day to look after our home.

Destination

For our first holiday we would lie to make an exchange or exchanges with someone with an island villa or home in close proximity to the beach in Mauritius or the Seychelles or the Maldives, or two of these. This would also possibly include two adult children and their partners but we are open to accommodation for just the two of us, another couple ie 4pp or 8pp.
