Maison

We offer our centrally located new townhouse in a vibrant colonial town, judged to be the worlds most liveable small city in 2008. Downtown is just 2 minutes walk away, and the renowned coastal walkway just five minutes walk.

The ground floor self contained apartment has 1 bedroom, (a second may be available) for non simultaneous swaps. The upstairs apartment is a similar self contained unit.

The whole house has 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, and will accommodate 5+ adults should a simultaneous swap be contemplated. All appliances are new, or near new, broad band internet WIFI, Sat TV , flat screen LCD TV upstairs and 29"CRT downstairs; twin door fridge freezer, double glazed and fully carpeted and insulated. Each floor has a deck and a barbeque. There may be just one old cat to fed.

There are virtually no grounds to worry about but council parks are just a stone's throw away.

New Plymouth is a vibrant city, with several beaches, some within easy walking distance, it has world class parks, several art galleries and an active theater life.

The provincial coast is a world renown surf coast and Mt Egmont National Park is just a short drive away. It offers a variety of walking and hiking tracks serviced by lodges and huts. (Mt Egmont/ Taranaki is the mountain often shown on the header page)

Our two bikes are available for use, and we offer the exchange of our car, at the time of entering this property information, a Ford Laser.

This is a relatively quiet neighbourhood undisturbed by traffic noise, and very close to all amenities.

We are a retired couple in our early 60s, (were: a medical practice manager and a compliance coordinator with a large engineering firm dealing in heavy fabrication for offshore petrochemical industry.)

Our interests include travel, and we both enjoy skiing. We have three adult children
, an engineer, a nutritionist and a geologist. All of them are keen travellers and have lived in England, Scotland, Japan and Australia for a time.

We have hosted a number of exchange students, several from Austria, and some from the PRC (China). We have made firm friends of our Austrian families and enjoy contact with them.

Destination

We would dearly love an exchange in Scotland, Edinburgh, Speyside or Ayr, Inverness, Dundee etc, in order to tour the whisky trail.
