Casa Logan is a treasure of a newly-built, colonial-style house in the close-in and much-in-demand colonia of San Antonio, only 3 blocks from the famed Instituto Allende and an easy 15-20-minute slight uphill walk to the Jardin (central plaza) and all points central. The house features a totally open design, Mexican gourmet kitchen, 3 gas fireplaces (for the cool winter evenings), hand-painted tiles and sinks, Mexican folk art, 2 gardens with patios, grass, bubbling fountain and terraces looking down from all sides. The dramatic upstairs master bedroom features a boveda cañon (barrel vault) ceiling with arched glass ends to let in terrific light and give an outlook on the giant jacaranda trees in back. The master suite also features his and her bathrooms with spectacular Mexican tiles and a colorful office/library looking out to the garden. A completely self-sufficient casita (guest house) with full kitchen and appliances sleeps 1-4 and its terrace looks out over the city and its wonderful churches. Other amenities include whole-house purified, pressurized water, fine linens, 3 times/week maid service, full laundry facilities, high-speed internet, all new appliances and furnishings.

If you’re new to San Miguel, you’ll be delighted with the wide range of cultural events---lectures and readings, plays and films, Spanish classes, music of every type, fascinating and nearly constant local fiestas, and wonderful impromptu happenings in the Jardin, all in easy walking range You’ll discover beautiful colonial churches and squares, an incredible library—one of our treasured institutions, along with our renowned art schools and theatres ---and our richly colonial homes, narrow, cobblestone streets and friendly people. And you’ll find fine restaurants at all levels and of many international cuisines, exercise classes and clubs, hiking and parks, including our 250+acre botanical garden, and numerous balnearios (hot springs) on the edge of town.


Neighborhood

Colonia San Antonio is anchored by the large parish church of San Antonio and the famous Instituto Allende where the international artists and writers who first made San Miguel famous as a city of artists studied and taught. It's much in demand as one of the best close in areas where you can walk to the Jardin in 15-20 minutes, but also its own traditions, fiestas and style. Buses and taxis also easily available.

About Us

Gordon and Muriel are among the many early retirees heading for Mexico from the colder North---Seattle in our case. Gordon retired from commercial real estate development and Muriel from international relief and development. We've been here almost 5 years and are as busy as can be with projects and activities in this wonderful town.

Destination

This option is for short trips to other places in Mexico and the US, especially during the rest of 2007. Flexible dates, not necessarily simultaneous, especially if you're just one or two people and want to exchange a small place for our fully self-contained casita.
