Late 1940's cottage style house with new 4 bedroom extension, each with double or King beds. Two bathrooms - one with shower, one with bath. Open plan kitchen & dining room. Cosy living room with wood burner. Sky TV. Large flat lawn with the bounciest trampoline ever! You can even go eeling in the shallow stream next to our house. Our neighbours are very friendly and welcoming - just like New Zealand! 2 mins walk down a pretty track to the stunning black sand beach.

Neighborhood

Piha is a small but unique, eco-aware community with only about 600 people in the winter, at the base of the Waitakere ranges Regional Park. It has the most famous surf beach in New Zealand with two beautiful black sand beaches. Its only 45 mins to Auckland, but has a real rural feel. It has a local RSA, Surf Club and Bowling Club that are the focal meeting houses for all us locals. Piha has a really eclectic mix of people, and has an art gallery for local talent to showcase their art, a local radio station, a campsite, and a strong surfing / fishing history.

About Us

We have lived in Piha about four years, emigrating here from London. We have two teenage children that are keen surfers. I am a voluntary local radio presenter (catch us on www.piharadio.co.nz). We have four cats which will need regular feeding, but are outside most of the time so you never notice them around much.
