1 bedroom 6th floor apartment in 48 story 24 hour doorman building. Apartment includes full kitchen, dining/living area, bedroom, full bathroom and two large closets. Computer & wireless internet access, TV with cable are also included. Views out of the apartment are 'cityscape' with several apartment and office buildings visible. Building access includes, laundry facilities, indoor top floor swimming pool, workout room and decks with chairs with great views of Lake Michigan and the city. One parking space available and is located in an indoor garage attached to the building. The building is very quiet. Also included in the building is a del/pizza shop that delivers within the building, a Starbucks Coffee shop, and nail bar.

Quartiere

The neighborhood is called Streeterville. Highlights of the area include access to public beaches on Lake Michigan and Navy Pier just one block away, a 5 block walk to the world famous Michigan Ave shopping district, a 7 block walk to Chicago's subway and elevated train system. Buses and taxis's are also very available near by. There are scores of restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. Everything from a 5 star restaurant three blocks down the street, to a variety of bars and fast food restaurants is close by. Also in the neighborhood are a couple of large hospitals so there is foot traffic in the area almost any time of the day or night. There are at least three large grocery stores within walking distance of the apartment. The area is safe and walking is the preferred method of transportation. The center city 'loop' area, the theater district and access to Millennium Park and the Art Institute of Chicago is a brief taxi ride or about a 20 minute walk from the building.

Chi siamo

We are a childless couple in our mid fifties who have been married for 36 years. We enjoy travel and have been to Europe (several times), Africa and South American. Dean is a pastor of a large United Methodist (Protestant) Church in a nearby Evanston, IL (www.faithatfirst.com) Nora is an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University, teaching Physical Therapy in the university's Medical School. (www.northwestern.edu). Our interests outside of work include, theater, music, walking, and other outdoor activities. Dean enjoys cooking and both of us love entertaining and meeting new and interesting people.

Destinazione

Our apartment is a second home so this can be a non-simultaneous exchange
