Description

Large "key-west" style family home steps from Florida's intra-coastal and Atlantic ocean. 2 miles from old city of St Augustine, oldest city & Spanish settlement with quaint sight-seeing tourist attractions and wonderful shops, bars, restaurants. House is geared toward energetic small boys - bikes, scooters, skate boards, boogie-boards and a jungle gym in the backyard. House is open and modern, newly renovated in many areas (boys' bathroom renovation should be completed in July). 2 home offices with wi-fi, HUGE DVD collection, all mod cons. Wrap-around verandahs on 2 levels to watch the panoramic sunsets every evening.
Minivan (seats 7) and car available.

Neighborhood

Located on a small peninsula where the ocean meets the intracoastal. Walk to beach (surfing, swimming, boogie-boarding, etc) and intracoastal (pier, fishing) - neighborhood is aptly named "Porpoise Point." Walk to PO, 1 bar and Italian restaurant - neighborhood currently being remodelled as an art deco "town center" so other shops and bars are closed during construction, but St Augustine, plus lots of local bars & restaurants only a short 2 mile drive. Kayaking, sailing, also available within 1-2 miles. St Augustine is the oldest city in US, mixture of sight-seeing & cultural activities - touristy in a very quaint way, lots of art galleries and bohemian shops, "Ripley's Believe It or Not" and "Fountain of Youth" next door to 16th Century Fort and 19th century lighthouse. Lots to do for the whole family. 2 hours drive to Orlando airport and Disney attractions - we usuallly drive for day trips.

About Us

I am a law professor, husband telecommutes to sales job in DC. I am from Sheffield originally and we want to go home in August to visit with family and aging father. We have a live-in au pair who will babysit for you (free) and show you the area (and he will clean the house if you pay him!) - if you don't want him to be in the house, we may be able to arrange for him to stay elsewhere. 1 cat will need feeding (au pair will do it if he stays in the house).

Destination

Looking for 2 weeks in June, July or early August 2007. Prefer Yorkshire, Derbyshire or Notts.
