4 br/2 bath home- on small lake- a/c, high-speed internet (wireless), (HDTV) satellite tv, grill, very child friendly & comfortable. We also enjoy cooking, so everything you need is available!

Acadian style home in a quiet neighborhood, on a small lake- spend your afternoon dropping a line into the well-stocked lake, or just feed the families of ducks that live out here as well.

Neighborhood

Located a few miles outside of Baton Rouge, the capital of Louisiana. An hour north of New Orleans, easy day trip. N'Awlins is home to the French Quarter, hundreds of fantastic restaurants, the Audubon Zoo & Aquarium, the Garden District, and much more. Baton Rouge is home to LSU, the Baton Rouge zoo ( a small zoo), museums, historical areas, and more. In the heart of the Plantation country- can visit many plantations in the south Louisiana area. 45 minutes to Lafayette, LA. Heart of Cajun Country. Crawfish, zydeco, swamp tours, and more! Visit Avery Island in Cajun country, where Tabasco sauce is made, or the Konriko Rice mill. Beautiful, old south region. Also close to plantation country, within short drive to many Antebellum plantation homes.

Denham Springs is a small, quiet Southern town, with a cute little downtown near the railroad crossing, and offers an Antique Village as well as all the basics- grocery stores/pharmacies/restuarants/etc. Close to Tiki Tubing (floating down the Amite River on a tube), fishing, state parks, weekly farmer's market, and more.

About Us

We have 3 children- a 7 year old boy and twin 4 year olds. They love to go and see and do things, including travel, and are well behaved. I am a full time law student returning to school (former stockbroker) and freelance writer, and my husband is in the Insurance industry. We have one small dog (can be boarded if necessary- or can exchange care, or if someone had one dog, could bring with to each other's homes). We love to travel, sightsee, outdoor activities, etc.

We have home exchanged once before, and it was extremely successful!

Destination

Open to any destination; love beaches, islands, mountains, historical locations, interested in cultural areas, or anything else interesting. In U.S.- would love to get close to Washington DC, or perhaps NYC, or FL Keys, but open to ideas. Also interested in Quebec, Canada. Open to Mexico, Central or South America; Caribbean, Europe, or any other compelling location!

We must generally travel around school schedules due to children and my own schedule- would love to find an exchange for the Christmas holidays (before/after/during, we're flexible). Also interested in long weekends if relatively close by. Possibly spring break, or next summer (2009) as well.
