Our home is a one bedroom + den on the 18th floor in the heart of Chicago. Our large windows overlook the Chicago river, and we have captivating views of Willis (Sears) Tower, the John Hancock Building, Trump Tower, Merchandise Mart and many other downtown buildings. Our master bedroom has a queen size bed and an en suite bathroom, and there is a powder room with sink and toilet off of the hallway. Relax and read a book or check your email in our den on the wireless high-speed internet, or sit out on the balcony with a cup of coffee enjoying the exciting metropolis that is Chicago. We've got a great kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and lots of room to cook. Washer and dryer in unit. The living room has a sleeper sofa which folds out to a full bed.

Ours is a quiet unit in a lovely and safe newer (built 2004) condo building. 24 hr. doorman, workout room, and deck are all available. Our building is pet friendly and there is a large park with dog area 3 blocks away.

We have a dog so if you have severe allergies, our home may not be the exchange for you.

Quartiere

Our neighborhood is fantastic because it is close to all that downtown offers and nearby to lots of public transportation (Union/Ogilivie Train Stations, the El, expressway). There are chic restaurants and bars within steps on Randolph Row (2+ block walk), and we are within walking distance to beautiful Lake Michigan. Very close to the Theater district and shopping on State Street and Michigan Avenue (1 mile walk). About 1.5-2 mile walk (or very short bus ride) from Millenium Park, Art Institute, Field Museum, Adler Planetarium and Shedd Aquarium.

We're one block away from the Pink and Green El train stop, and there are plenty of buses around.

Chi siamo

My husband are I are young professionals (27 and 28) without children looking to travel and explore and share our fantastic home with others looking to do the same. We love Chicago and want others to come here and love it too! I'm a school librarian and my husband is a software developer. We like to go out and have fun, but we're most certainly responsible, dependable and tidy people.

We are flexible to where we go, but are looking for shorter term exchanges (1-2 weeks) during the summer of 2010 (between June 10th and August 15th).
