Description

Our house is a two story 1929 bungelow in a well established Portland neighborhood. We have easy access to the airport, downtown, and other Oregon sights. We have recently constructed an addition that has a fabulous kitchen/family room with access to our back garden. The second floor master bedroom has a balcony, fireplace and bathroom with a whirlpool bath. The other three bedrooms can all accommodate two persons per room. We have a finished basement with a laundry room and entertainment area.

Neighborhood

Our house is located in a well established, tree lined Portland neighboorhood. We have lived here for 20 years and have a great relationship with our neighbors. The area is pedestrian/bike friendly. It is four blocks from Whole Foods, the library, an Irish pub, coffee shops and a well regarded New Orleans style restaurant. We are two blocks from a bus stop that can take you downtown in ten minutes and within walking distance to a mall. We are near the popular Alberta and Mississippi neighborhoods with vibrant art and food scene.

About Us

My husband is Colombian and I am a native Oregonian. We have four daughters (three of whom are in college) and a dog. We speak Spanish and enjoy traveling and exploring other cultures. I work for the school district and my husband is an Industrial Designer. I enjoy cooking and have a well stocked kitchen. We read and have a large selection of both English and Spanish books. We have visited most parts of Oregon and have many travel books at our house that would be helpful to visitors.

Destination

Because I work for the school district, we a lot of flexibility during the summer--mid June to mid August). Ideally we would exchange a house in either Europe or Latin America the summer of 2010. We would be open to a weekend exchange during the school year for locations within driving distance of Oregon (Western Canada or California).
