This is a family house in Lower Shiplake, a beautiful village just 2 miles from the famous riverside town of Henley-on-Thames and an hour from London. The downstairs has a fully equipped kitchen, family room, lounge with three sofas, a large conservatory, a girl’s playroom and a downstairs toilet. Upstairs, there are two double en-suite bedrooms, two single bedrooms, a boy’s playroom and a family bathroom.

There is a garden both at the front and rear of the property. The rear garden is enclosed and includes a climbing frame and a paved area with an outside dining table with seating for 6. There is parking for 3 cars.

The house is a short walk from a small train station, the pub, two shops and the river Thames. There is a beautiful walk along the river that takes you to Henley on Thames within 30 minutes.

Quartier

Lower Shiplake is an idyllic village on the River Thames. It's just 2 miles or a riverside walk from the beautiful riverside town of Henley-on-Thames. The area is made famous by the novel The Wind in the Willows and Three Men in a Boat and also by the World famous Henley Regatta, which attracts the world’s finest rowers. Other events are the Henley Festival of music and arts and the Henley Food festival.

The picturesque and affluent town of Henley-on-Thames has many old and beautiful buildings, a historic church, quaint old pubs, cosmopolitan café’s and a central market square filled with interesting stalls on market days.

There are wonderful walks and bicycle routes along the Thames and into the Chiltern Hills and boat hire is available. Within the area, there are many award winning and famous restaurants.

We like the area because it's beautiful, quaint, typically English and has a relaxing feel to it. Far from the rush of London but within an hour, we can be in London.

Many places are easily accessible by train. By car, you can reach the following places: city of Reading (15 minutes), Heathrow airport (40 minutes), Oxford (50 minutes), London (60 minutes), Stratford upon Avon (1 hr 40 minutes), the south coast beaches and the beautiful New Forest (1 hour 40 minutes), Bath (1 hr 50 minutes).

À propos de nous

We are a couple who run our own training company business, whucih specialises in sales and customer service. We have a 9 year old boy and a 3 year old girl.

I (Debbie) love to write, dance and travel. Martin enjoys travelling and watching motor racing (he gave up the sport when we had our son).

We especially love to travel in the school holidays in February, April, May, August, October and December.

We particularly like warm places but we’d consider other options.

Destination

We like warm countries but are open to different places. We'd also consider a non-simultaneous exchange or a rental.
