Maison

Our home is located in a quaint coastal town on the coast of Northern California. Walk on four miles of broad sandy beaches, walk or ride your bike on the coastal trails. Walk to beautiful downtown Half Moon Bay’s Main Street where you will find many outstanding restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, spas and shops. The house has an open, clean and airy feel with 3 bedrooms (master suite has a king bed, 2 others with queen beds plus one trundle) and 2.5 baths. Our home sleeps 6+ comfortably. A spacious gourmet kitchen with a breakfast bar and all the amenities you need to prepare your perfect meal. Gas barbecue on the upper deck just outside the kitchen. A formal dining room directly off the kitchen seats 8. Two gas fireplaces (one upstairs in the living room and one downstairs in the TV/family room), piano, master suite has a jacuzzi tub with TV. Linens for beds and towels are provided.

Our outdoor living space is private and beautifully landscaped with an outdoor shower (please use to rinse off the sand after a day at the beach). Relax with a book or take a nap in our Bali Hut while listening to the waterfalls of the koi pond. Roast marsh mellows while sitting around the above ground gas fire pit. Our house offers all you need for a comfortable and relaxing get-away/vacation.

About Half Moon Bay: There are many recreational activities within walking distance or a short bike ride away, such as golfing (2 world class golf links), surfing (famous Mavericks surf spot is just north of the Harbor), hiking, bike riding (rent bikes locally), kayaking, fishing, Fitzgerald Marine Reserve Tide Pools just to name a few. The Harbor offers whale watching and fishing charters. HMB is 20 minutes to San Francisco airport, 30 minutes to San Francisco, 30 minutes to Stanford University, Palo Alto and the north end of Silicon Valley and 30 minutes to the unique Ano Nuevo elephant seal preserve.

Places to visit outside Half Moon Bay: Take a short drive north to San Francisco, walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, hop on a cable car, take a ferry to Sausalito, Tiburon and Alcatraz, stop at Fisherman’s Wharf for lunch…these are just a few ideas. A short drive to the south will take you to Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk), Monterey (Monterey Bay Aquarium & Cannery Row), Carmel (17 Mile Drive Pebble Beach), etc.

Active family of 4 with two young girls age 6 and 9.

Our home is available for exchange for all holiday's and from mid June through mid August. We spend most of our summers back east in Rhode Island so swapping coasts would be great.

We like to do long weekends the rest of the year by car. We enjoy getting up to Tahoe, sightseeing in San Francisco, Sausalito, Tiburon, Santa Cruz, Monterey and Carmel. Would also like to explore southern California as well.

We are open to all destinations both domestic and international during holiday breaks both summer and winter.

One of our family members is highly allergic to cats so a home where a cat lives would not be an option for us.

We speak English although our girls are learning Spanish and are currently attending a Spanish Immersion elementary school so a Spanish speaking country would be a fun destination to bring the girls.

We are open to both domestic and international destinations.

We like to travel during our children's school holidays and summers but have flexibility.

We also like to take long weekends throughout the year to local destinations such as San Francisco, Sausalito, Tiburon, Lake Tahoe, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, Capitola, etc.
